Scaleby Castle
The castle is lovely. On the internet it says it is not owned by anyone, but someone lives in it. Its on private property but we took photos and no-one challenged us. We were respectful as we only took photos of the ruin part of it not the private home

Current owner purchased a castle. Did they really think nobody would be interested in it’s history? Clearly the case. I took my 3 year old Grandson. I didn’t realise until speaking to the owner that it’s now privately owned. I apologised as I was not aware of this. He asked what I wanted to do. I just said my Grandson would just really like to see the castle. I wasn’t allowed to show him the castle or take pictures. Couldn’t book appointment to see it either. Walked back to the car with my Grandson crying “I want to see the castle.” Yeah me too little man.So wide birth this piece of history because you like I, will just be wasting your time.

Nice little building was closed when we visited would recommend a visit if your local in the area
