A friend , his dog and I, stopped for the night at Abington services on the way up to Glencoe, and found this place nearby. The guy behind the bar (assume owner) was so friendly and welcoming. It was a hot day and he brought over iced water and a few treats for the dog. The beer was good too! We didn't eat there as it was late but the menu sounded good. This is a great, little old school country pub. I was sad we couldn't stay for a few more drinks, but we will definitely return when we come this way again.

We were staying just outside of Crawfordjohn and found the Colebrooke Arms to not only be nearby but also offer excellent fare with very friendly personnel. Aunt Janette's Homemade Steak pie was excellent with tender juicy beef and superb roasted potatoes. We also found the Haggis Pakora delicious. The only negative is that they are only open Thu-Sun. However, we enjoyed every meal we were able to eat.

Gave a warm and friendly welcome to two wet and tired cyclists who needed some lunch on a long ride.

Dropped in for lunch on the way to Gretna, and we had a great experience here. The lasagne with garlic bread was excellent, and the roast chicken dinner was really good too. Generous portions, very reasonable prices and pleasant friendly service and chat from the staff. Will return again, and as it's convenient for the M74, it's so much better quality and value than the motorway services.

Stopped in last night on our way to mull. Asked if it was dog friendly, they are VERY dog friendly and a lovely local even popped their dog back on lead when I said ours can be a bit worried around others. Had a lovely food and a very welcoming atmosphere. Cosy little pub, well worth the drive from the services or wherever you are stopping over.

What a great find. Travelling from Cairnryan to Biggar and found serious lack of roadside eatery's. Starting to fade and then found this gem. Great welcome. Great food and a lovely open fire

Most enjoyed, only reason for a 4 and not 5 stars is the homemade macaroni was rotten, reminded me on heinz tinned, the steak pie was a bit peely wally (but to be fair, the ones going to the other tables weren't)Drinks weren't very cold eitherBut the burgers were thoroughly enjoyed, as was the prawn cocktail, lentil soup and the haggis pakora!Nice traditional atmosphere

Lovely pub in a beautiful setting in lowland Scotland. Good home cooked food and friendly staff. Haggis pakoras were delicious and the steak was perfectly cooked and much tastier than what we had on the Isle of Mull!

Dropped into this wonderful little pub in the quaint village of CrawfordJohn for lunch and it was fantastic. It was a chilly day but once inside the open fire was a warming sight. ‘Aunty Janette’s’ beef pie was without doubt best I’ve ever had. The owners were very friendly and engaging and gave us some useful local knowledge as we were visiting from Australia. Highly recommend this very original and charming Pub with home made meals and great ale. It’s tucked away but well worth taking the effort to visit, you won’t be disappointed.
