Walnut Tree Traditional Fish & Chips
I previously gave 5 star review because the food was hot, tasty and lovely. Can’t fault it. However my recent experience is that everything was fine but the fish size was small. I paid for the largest cod so I’ll expect a large cod.I would prefer if the shop kept the same portion size and increase the price, but it seems they kept the price the same and decreased the portion size.Everything else was great, maybe offer an extra extra large for those who want it?

Walnut Tree Traditional Fish & Chips
The regular/medium cod is tiny, like a small or a child's portion and both were undercooked. Although looking good on top, the batter was soggy on the bottom and the fish was still slimy and raw!!! We won't be going there again. Curry sauce lumpy type but tasty. Chips ok, salted well but a bit hard. Swap the cooking times around and you'll be on to a winner! Lol

So happy this is my local chippy. Top quality with a great menu. Always a special fish going. Had the John Fory today - it really is worth the money. Portion sizes are generous and always get a friendly service. Happy with the usual wait as I know they make their fish fresh to order. Would highly recommend.

We stopped for a quick bite to eat and got medium chips to share.The chips were perfectly cooked and lovely and fresh and perfectly salted and just the right amount of vinegar too.Very quick and friendly service too

I'm very surprised I expected so much more when I saw all the reviews but sadly its overpriced and the food quality is poor. Its a shame I expected more. Maybe I have just visted on a off day. But won't be returning.

Went in and brought fish and chips for the family early Friday evening one of the first in at 5.00pmWhen I got it back I opened the chips and they where obviously ones left over from the lunch time sessionPretty much inedibleAt £4.00 a bag think we deserved better than thatFish tasted ok but bit on the small side to be honest considering it was a large codIf the owner thinks that’s large all I can say is his wife must be very disappointed :)I will think twice about going back

Popped in as we were close by must say the best fish and chips we have had in a long time and you were right the turbot was lovely, everything cooked fresh . Staff we’re helpful. Worth going a few extra miles for this we will be back.
