Luke has just finished building us an amazing display unit with bookshelves and cupboards. We’d seen some of his recent work and gave him a rough design of what we would like to fill a long, empty space against the wall downstairs. We could choose materials and colours from samples that Luke gave us and customise the design however we wanted. Our floor is sloped downwards which created a challenge for him but he did a great job keeping the unit level and smooth. He does as much prep as possible in his own workshop so when the lockdown started he could continue working on all the materials, and we liked seeing the regular updates of our project on social media. We are lucky that the room it was being built in has its own entrance/exit so Luke could install the unit during the lockdown following social distancing guidelines and he disinfected the space at the end of each day. Throughout the process we were impressed with Luke’s professionalism, especially considering these extraordinary circumstances, and ultimately his high level of skill. Luke was friendly, enthusiastic and cleaned and tidied up after himself each day. The unit has made our ‘Den’ much more modern, cosy and given it character. We will certainly be going back to Luke for any future projects!

Up North Cabinet Makers recently completed a commission for shelving and cabinets either side of the fireplace in our lounge. Luke and his team at Up North Cabinet makers did an excellent job designing and building the most beautiful bookcase for me. I was able to pick every little detail of it right down to the brightness and colour of the lights. There was minimal disruption to my life because they fitted in in 2 days. They were courteous and professional throughout. It is so sturdy, it looks like its built to last!

Last year Luke designed and installed the most beautiful kitchen for me. I didn’t have to do anything... except pay him of course. He arranged all the relevant trades and installed the kitchen himself. Its been a year now and its showing absolutely no sign of wear.I’ve got loads of other jobs I need doing still and I am definitely going to ask Luke to do them. He was so professional and really guided my when I wasn’t sure which direction to go with the kitchen. I would not hesitate to recommend Luke. Many thanks to him and his team.

We are delighted with our bespoke cabinet. Luke was professional and flexible. He supported us in making the build affordable (after we realised we were having a baby!), considered the way the cabinet needed to work for us (freezers, microwave, shelf space, ventilation!) and came to us to knock it all together one morning with warmth and no fuss. Luke and Caroline were very professional and made my living room into a beautiful and very special space, dealing with some tricky shapes, and making it look as if the house was designed for this exact furniture. The best bit is my new gadget charging drawer! Caroline was lovely with my friend's little girl, who was excited to know how to fit shelves, and might just be a joiner when she grows up.

Luke and his team were a pleasure to work with from the initial consultation and design to the fitting and finishing of our bespoke office (in an attic room with sloping ceilings.) All the team members were polite and respectful of our property. Their communication was great at all steps of the project. Luke created some bespoke cabinets for us and they have turned out better than we ever possibly imagined. Other suppliers told us the space we had was ‘difficult’ and that we would have to compromise on what we wanted whilst paying through the nose! Yet with Luke, I gave him one photo from Pinterest of something that I liked and he has truly made our storage space even better! UpNorthCabinets was Absolutely sensational from start to finish! Luke was professional and communicative throughout. He checked in with us at every stage of the build. He made suggestions when we weren’t sure and allowed us to select exactly the right type of wood, specific paint and more! It is obvious he cares very much about what he does and I was so impressed by how much he cared for my house whilst he was in it. Had a new kitchen done by Up North recently, including some building work and new flooring. The kitchen units are great and finished to a high standard - we're very happy customers. The building works threw up some problems, primarily caused by our ageing terrace, but it was all handled very professionally. They are also the most responsive tradespeople I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Would definitely use them again without hesitation.
