Ossett Surgery

I have never experienced this level of unprofessionalism. No future appointments, no real understanding or anything towards mental health, no communication, quite rude. You basically do all the work and tell them what's wrong with you. When you email them to say you are very ill and you can't get through to them at 8am or 12pm, they email you back saying you need to call at 8am or 12pm. What kind of organisation is this?

I cant praise the surgery and staff high enough. Ive recently moved to the area and was a bit concerned about changing doctors as I’d been with my others for 40 years. I needed 2 routine check ups which i didnt have to ask for but was given them fairly quickly but unfortunately I became ill recently and needed to see a GP . The phone system gave you a choice to hold on or request a call back whilst not losing your place in the queue.(a really good idea) I got a call back within 10 minutes and was given an appointment for 2 hours later, given a prescription and told to come back in a week if no better. It’s much efficient than my previous surgery when you could never get an appointment in less than two weeks

Called today to make an appointment at 8AM for my son who had a really bad chest. I was 33 in the queue at 8AM. I used the ring back service which was very good. My call back was received in 15 minutes. I was able to get a morning appointment which I was really pleased about considering the time of year and how busy the doctors are. On arrival we were taking in to our appointment by the doctor on time at 10:30, there was no long wait. We saw Dr Khan and she was lovely. Had a wonderful personality and was really good with my son and spent some time giving him a very thorough consultation. We had a very good all round experience.

I have been with Church St surgery for 40 years. I must be very lucky as I am well looked after. I have always managed to obtain an appointment, whether telephone or surgery quite quickly. My diabetic reviews, and other recent issues have been promptly addressed.

Shocking service. No idea about mental health and what medication to provide patients. I don't think I have experienced this level of incompetence in GPs. The problem is GPs are not doctors like PhD doctors. They have to use intranet to find the most basic elementary things and they have no understanding of science anymore. I have heard, you will soon be able to be a GP by doing a modern apprenticeship. The lord help us.They hardly pick up their emergency line either.

In these difficult times, I am amazed to find that I can now book an appointment.Many thanks, after a fall I made a same day appointment and was very well looked after.Wonderful young doctor who has a very good 'bedside manner'. I wish I could remember his name, he deserves a mention.Thanks muchly,Graham.

What an amazing place. I was feeling very anxious when I went in, and went to the wrong part. The receptionist was so helpful and understanding. Then in the part I was meant to be in, the gentleman on reception greeted me with a lovely smile and reassurance. I then met another member of staff who helped me with the parking. Finally, the doctor was excellent and went over and above with what I was there for. What an amazing team. Thank you for putting me at ease.

Unprofessional and poor service, was going to make me wait 2 to 3 days without my mental health medication due to issues with my prescription. Was made out to be lying about not having my medication, and Reception staff were unhelpful and didn't care. Trying to get a appointment is also a Joke getting told to ring either 8 or 12 each day and that all appointments are taken, then to call the following day. This is after having the line busy tone in excess of 55 times prior to getting through.

Updated as care level from my last two doctors and the young guy on reception was fantastic.The nurses who do blood tests are all amazing and care..absolutely no issues there.The other surgery however, has treated me like I'm wasting their time from the reception upwards recently.Extremly patronising today and just topped it off by assuming I'm making a lump in the roof of my mouth up when I'm terrified it's oral cancer.Left the surgery in tears as they wouldn't listen to my list of symptoms, won't advise of how to get a longer appointment as I know its all connected.I have to call for appointments for every symptom.I understand you are lacking on funding and need to hurry me out but please care. We are human beings not numbers.Looking for answers that you so far haven't found isn't me being difficult. It's me trying to get well.Being made to shine a torch into my own mouth to look for the problem myself as two doctors assumed I'm making this up is shocking.I felt dehumanised after that
