They introduced a new queuing system and we although we were first in line on Sunday the menu was already mostly “sold out” when we ordered, which was disappointing. I think a chalk board menu makes more sense if things are changing daily as it wouldn’t make you feel like you’re missing out. But as we were leaving, we noticed people getting ribs which were “sold out” when we had ordered so that confused us even more and we felt it didn’t pay off to get there early as that was one of the main things we wanted to try! The “all meats” platter from other reviews was also “sold out” even though again we were the first customers of the day.Getting the meats individually was a bit more pricey and everything was served in bowls which isn’t as easy to share or eat from but everything was really delicious. I especially liked the bbq sauce on the beef cheeks, it was so authentic to the bbq I’ve had before in America and took me back, and the fried rice, and sausage had smoky umami flavour, and were delicious. More hot sauce or bbq sauce wouldn’t have gone amiss though. The pork belly was also some of the best I’ve had, it was juicy and peppery with a good “bark”.I loved the food, the bar/restaurant “All our friends” is nice and has lots of seating and even has a DJ at lunch.

This is an incredible pop up. Only around for another 2 weeks, but the food was absolutely amazing. If you get the chance I would definitely recommend. The head chef is incredibly passionate about BBQ and you can definitely taste that in the food. Some of the best BBQ I have had definitely the best in the UK. Well worth the trip up from Plymouth for it.

Uncle Hon’s BBQ is so revered that you need to be prepared to queue for an hour and wait another hour for food. But when it comes it’s more than worth the wait. The ox cheeks were so so tender, the hot links are very high quality sausage, the Szechuan ribs are rightly called out as the special. All of the meats were so tender and moist and the sides were perfect compliments. We had a large plate of all the meats and a small portion of the ribs between 3 of us and it was plenty. Whilst the length of the queue to order and the wait time for the food was excessive, I’m sure they’ll find ways to speed it up by taking orders quicker and improving their processes in the kitchen. Doing so would make them a truly exceptional BBQ joint in London. I’d like to keep them a secret but I cannot recommend it more (as long as you are not in a hurry (for now)).

So I heard about Hon’s via IG (like most places these days!) The concept of an authentic Texan BBQ with a Chinese twist was interesting and different, and with Chinese heritage myself it was definitely something I wanted to try. I booked a table at the bar but arrived early to get my ticket for the food (number 7 on the day), the venue has a relaxed vibe and there were a few others waiting patiently for the food - the bar seating is upstairs but you can also hang about downstairs where there’s a sofa and a couple of chairs by the counter and outdoor tables. My friend was running a little late so I had a book for company. Ordering food was pretty straightforward, the menu is simple and the staff helpful when I asked about portion sizes - you can also inspect the dishes as they fly out from the kitchen behind the counter, where you’ll catch glimpses of Hon busy at work. In the end I ordered all the meats and sides, if you’re greedy like me and come on an empty stomach you could probably eat the large, but I think it is meant for sharing (see picture). The meats were succulent and full of flavour, being Asian it was helpful to have some rice to go with it along with the slaw. The only thing I’d change is the option of replacing the sausage with more of the beef / pork belly. My friend had the beef ribs and thoroughly recommended it, I’ll have to try that next time.

I thought it was amazing. The queuing system worked perfectly (not sure why others didn’t like it).We ordered and had our food within 40 mins. The food was incredible.I took Tupperware to bring some home for my husband and he is adamant we have to go back ASAP.We had the tasting platter and the the rib. In terms of the sides, the rice was awesome, the slaw was incredible and so were the pickles. There was only one sausage I wasn’t too keen on - a bit salty for my tastes. But we will definitely be returning

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime. Atmosphere was good - music but not too loud. Staff were very helpful in explaining the menu and portion sizes to help us order. Food was excellent - we had try all meats and sides" plus a large beef rib and this felt like a good amount for 2 hungry adults. Bonus for us (as not mentioned in any reviews so far) is it is dog friendly - lunchtime was fine for our dog

The perfect BBQ venue that features an incredible blend of Chinese and Asian spices with quintessential mouth watering, melt off the bone, Texan bbq. The Szechuan beef rib was a particular highlight but the pork ribs and all in platter were delectable. Portion sizes were extremely filling and having being advised about long wait times, awesome company and a great selection of craft beers helped bide the time and build the anticipation. Reasonably priced and absolutely delectable!

Absolutely phenomenal food! The meat was beautiful smoked and seasoned. Juicy and tender. Such a cool vibe to the venue too. We came after they got a feature on social media this week, so knew it would be busy and came early! The peach ice tea pork belly & special szechuan rib were our favourites, but everything was excellent! Our first taste of proper American BBQ, with an Asian twist. We’ll definitely be back!

The most incredible mouth watering BBQ food. This platter was shared amongst 6 adults and a couple of kids and there wasn’t a scrap left on the tray. That says a lot. You can feel and taste the passion that has been put into this food and my gosh we will definitely be coming back. So glad we made it before they close for the season. Thank you for this amazing experience and keep up with your amazing smoking skills. Thank you!
