Well, because if COVID periods, I like that they get everything ready before you get there. My car was already ready. It was quite filthy though but that's not up to the IAA. The owner just never cleaned it.

Absolutely massive staff are pleasant and helpful

The worst site I have ever been, I came earlier and on my way to reception was literally kicked out by mad forklift driver. Didn't even let me talk to Reception. He was shouting at me and driving over footpaths until I left the site.

This HBC office/yard is located in Haverton Hill, Stockton-on-Tees. The service says they are open from 9:00AM-5:30PM but that is only for the office hours, the actual yard and gates shut at 5PM so if you are collecting a car you need to be in by before that. If it is close to a public holiday or over Xmas the hours are different again.You also must wear a high vis shirt/jacket if you are coming to get a vehicle. The staff won't serve you unless you have one on, if you don't have one they will turn you away or charge you £10 to buy one.The service doesn't accept cash payments either, you need to pay with a card. There are also no toilet facilities or cafe facilities on-site. Parking is free.

I worked at HBC for a period of 3 weeks through an agency. It was an alright company to work for. It is located in Haverton Hill aka The middle of nowhere. The office only accepts card payments for cars now not cash. Also they do not sell spare parts only whole cars.The yard staff are canny, good banter etc. The office staff, some of them are ok, 1-2 of them were not that nice. The other staff were all good people.The communication between management and staff could be better though. I showed up to work and was told I wasn't required, apparently what had happened was the manager had emailed the agency saying it was my last week but failed to pass that message onto me or the other staff.

Absolutely shocking centre headed 3 hours over to collect 2 cars got caught in traffic arrived just under 2 hours late but still in opening times at 15:35 to be told will have to leave and book appointments for another day. Absolutely no empathy from the receptionist about the cost gone in to trying to make a living that day. I’d understand if we turned up after closing but we never.

Recovered my camper van without permission, took me 2 weeks to finally get it back, when I did, they'd caused over £1000 of extra damage to my van ripping all the front bumper and grill out, when asked they've just refused to rectify
