Bought a bike from here recently and it couldn't have gone better! All the staff were really friendly and helpful, and they even helped me get some free stuff with the cycle care plan! Can very much recommend :)

I’ve used this Halfords a few times now. I realised very quickly never to take a car there. They’ll try and rip you off. The staff that work downstairs don’t care and they don’t treat customers properly. Upstairs in the bike section is a different story, they’re generally pretty good. But the staff that work downstairs, very poor people skills and don’t expect them to be friendly towards you.

I had a Green Machine needing a new tyre. The three guys in the bike department were really helpful, particularly Fin who was prepared to take on the challenge of an unusual repair. Both he and his contemporary remember having a green machine when they were children. No care was spared. Parts were oiled and the seat slider greased. A very satisfied customer.

We bought a baby seat for the car and we were given first class service from Matt. He was really knowledgeable about which product would be best and fitted the seat for us. He was also able to give us lots of useful advice on fitting and operation of the seat. We paid a little bit more than we intended but very pleased that we have the right product for our grandson. Great work Matt and thank you.

brought my car in for a MOT, the staff are really friendly and managed to get my car in 10mins before my appointment. man who conducted MOT Professional service4/5 star, coffee machine doesn’t work.

I couldn't recommend Halford more highly. I had an excellent experience. I took my bike in for a free 'health check' and David, who works there, talked me through what was fine with my bike, what parts needed replacing and what the most urgent things were. He was really friendly, honest and competent. I decided to get a few things replaced and got an excellent price for it all. All round a great experience, highly competent staff who were friendly and helpful. Now my bike works a dream.

I was taken advantage of for being a young driver.I was told I had excessive corrosion" on my brake discs and would cost £250 to repair. My brake discs (as seen) are not corroded

Bought a bicycle with bell, lights, stand and basket from the store floor. Customer service was excellent. Good value for money. Package deal includes brake, gear and chain adjustments and two puncture repairs in the first year.

David at Halfords York Fosse Islands was an absolute joy to meet and could not have been more helpful to me when looking to buy my bike and accessories through the Cycle to Work scheme. He listened to what I wanted and was able to provide incredibly informed advice - which was much needed and helpful given I am not an experienced cyclist at all - but all through a very relaxed and friendly approach. He could not have made the process any easier and I left feeling fully confident that I am purchasing exactly what I need. Thanks mate!
