I would recommend The Traditional Carpenters for any oak frame building project. Tom and Luke did a fantastic job from inception, design, drawings, and erecting the oak frame, to installing the external glazing and cover boards. Their pricing was very competitive when compared to the large oak frame companies, with the added benefit of producing a completely bespoke and made-to-measure building. They are extremely skilled carpenters and I didn't really appreciate how much work and detailing was involved in the finished building until I saw the guys at work. We are delighted with the finished oak framed extension and will definitely be contacting them in the future for further timber building projects.

We are so pleased with the oak structure that Tom built for our garden. Tom listened to what we wanted and then added that extra special ingredient that only a true artisan can. From the date I moved in, I became more and more stressed about the state of my timber framed house, both aesthetically and structurally. After a number of well known local builders either failed to respond to emails, or came and inspected the project and then disappeared without trace, I tracked down The Traditional Carpenters. Tom and Luke came, were not phased by the project and then gave me a timescale and estimate I was happy with. They turned up when they said they would and did what they said they would do. It was an education to watch them work, they know what they are doing and they are skilled at doing it. They were a pleasure to have on site and the house now looks fantastic. I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone needing conservation work on a timber frame

Tom & Luke have been superb. They were open to trying something more contemporary and different with our lightweight Douglas fir frame. They went above and beyond to make sure it looked and performed the best it could, and it has shown. We are delighted with it. I look forward to many years to come staring at its beauty!
