Alchemy Salsa Dance Academy

I started going to Alchemy's Basingstoke branch about 10 years ago and am so excited they are opening in Southampton as its much closer to me. Marchant and Davina are great teachers and salsa dancing is alot of fun. i definitely recommend giving it a try.

Walking into Alchemy a total beginner and on my own, I’d unknowingly found something that would change my life !World class teachers with incredible technique , the lesson are perfectly structured to challenge but also give you the fundamental basics of Salsa from a beginner to advanced. Marchant and Davina are amazing teachers and it is a great place to learn and improve your salsa and cha-cha and have fun at the same time! I also love the classes because they cover the techniques and fundamentals of dancing salsa to help improve the quality of your salsa dancing. They also offer great opportunities for 1 to 1 time with Marchant and Davina to enable you to get advice and tips on how to improve your dancing.

This company is outstanding! As soon as you arrive Marchant and Davina are welcoming, friendly and incredible humble. Their talent and dedication for Salsa and what it means to the community is electric. They see each student as an individual who is on their own journey, they really care! Being a teacher myself I feel confident in expressing just how INCREDIBLE theirs are, each one bringing so much passion and personality to their sessions. Alchemy has not only brought me a way to express myself through dance, it brings with it a community of friendly and caring people who quickly become your salsa family! However old you are, however experience or inexperienced, wether you want to meet people, get fitter or just have a bit of a laugh; Alchemy are there with open arms and a basic step to get you warmed up. Try it, you will not regret it.

For almost two decades I've admired Marchant's style and teaching (and jaw dropping shows), later joined by Davina. Unfortunately for me being based away from their area I could only take advantage of their teaching at Salsa congresses and clubs where they were guest teachers.For almost a year now I've had the pleasure of joining their online live classes from where I live in Spain. I absolutely love the mix of the class whereby the first half is an excellent body movement session incorporating stretching and fluidity, followed by 45 minutes of Marchant's unique footwork and styling.I highly recommend giving it a try.If you're lucky enough to be in their area, go to the weekly classes, if not, then join online.

Really great place to learn how to dance, classes are very well structured and full of fun at the same time, the atmosphere is brilliant and you can meet so many lovely people and make friends for life. Marchant and Davina are really dedicated fantastic teachers and really amazing dancers. Personally I do feel really lucky I was and still am learning at Alchemy, it's been an amazing journey and I would definitely recommend it to everyone, dancing is certainly a great escape from reality to better, happier place and it took my heart for sure.

I can highly recommend Alchemy Salsa Dance Academy. Both Marchant and Davina love their craft and are trained dance teachers and outstanding performers. Their teachers are well trained and always available to help with a tricky move. Their classes are exciting and such fun.. The Latin music lifts your spirit.. There is such a buzz for the whole evening during classes and the social dancing after. A great night out, chance to meet friendly people from the melting pot of life all wanting to learn to dance. All levels and abilities catered for from beginners to performers. Workshops and party nights available. It's highly addictive and I love it.

Truly one of the best things I've done! Being new to an area can always be difficult! I've now been going for nearly 4 years.Not only do you learn to dance salsa, you also build up a friendship base with likeminded people, naturally your confidence levels increase and you feel like you've become part of something exciting! The social aspect, the dancing and the music is addictive.I met the love of my life through dance and it all started with Alchemy!
