The building survey report I received from Southdown for my proposed house purchase was extremely comprehensive and helpful. I had partly expected pages of general comments and padding. However it was very specific to the property and very detailed and it was clear that considerable amount of time and effort went into the survey itself and the report. It made very clear the remedial work and action points that are required and it will be very crucial in renegotiating the purchase price. Matthew Symonds who undertook the survey was genuinely interested and helpful in answering the various queries I had and gave me all the time I needed. He clearly understands customer service! The report was worth every penny and I have no hesitation in recommending Southdown Surveyors or using them in future.

In addition to the normal scope of the survey, I had some specific queries for the surveyor, which he addressed comprehensively. I would thoroughly recommend Southdown surveyors. I used them for a snagging report on a new build and their service was top notch. Lisa and Caroline coordinated excellently from the office while Mike made a thorough review of the property and produced a fantastic report with numerous observations which were extremely useful.At first I was hesitating whether to do a snagging report but I would strongly recommend it for any new build buyer - the specialists simply see so much more than you can - and secondly I would have no hesitation in recommending Southdown.In my case, they even went the extra mile by revisiting the property at my request to look at something I felt had been missed, though which was not technically their mistake.. in other words, they listened reasonably and came to a good and fair solution which showed their excellent customer service credentials.

Matthew was meticulous in his reporting of the period properties, both of which were Georgian. They helped me come to the correct conclusion and assured me that the concerns I had with the property would be covered, going above and beyond the level I actually went with.2. I had issues with my selling property so needed to put off the survey on purchasing property; southdowns surveyors were extremely accommodating with this.3. The report was sent in a timely manner and was very comprehensive, assuring me of my worries about the property but also showing me areas that would require maintenance that I would have otherwise not known about.Overall I am very happy with the service I received.
