Tyler Court B

The lady on the reception in Tyler Court was very rude and unfriendly to the delivery people.

Clean, spacious and good location. Quality towels and everything was in good condition. No tv or hairdryer but very comfy bed, wifi, tea and coffee facilities and toiletries. Lots of sockets for USB, plugs etc too!

Accommodation is good, lazy staff at reception clock out a couple hours before they're supposed to so if you want to pick up a delivery you'll have to wait for the day after.

It is ridiculously expensive for what it offers... Which is nothing. There are too many to a kitchen and the rooms are tiny. The prices of the washing facilities are horrendous. staff are unfriendly the office staff are abrupt and answer you when they want to. They just sit and watch TV on their computer without acknowledging students needs. An example the printer was broken on multiple occasions and the office staff rather than helping just said it wasn't their problem. the cleaning staff don't do their job. They criticise and make you feel insecure in your room. The cleaner I had was rude banging loudly multiple times on all the hallways door the first week telling all of us to come into the kitchen and show us how messy it was, it was not us. There were rotting maggots under the couch from months before we had moved in. There was dirt and dust everywhere far too much for it to be due to our group only moving in a week. When I encountered the cleaner in my room she never once cleaned my bathroom even though it's her job, leaving the mirror dirty, toilet unkept.the only thing she did do was confiscate my bleach which I know was not allowed but if she's not gonna clean I thought I should. As well as this if you want to have privacy you can't because you signed a contract saying people can come in when they feel like it. Meaning if you want a lay in but the cleaner wants to intrude she will come in. She knocks maybe 3 times and then let's herseld in. On multiple occasions I have been coming out of the shower or getting changed. If you want your space how you like you can't because you can get fined for small messes which, when you take into consideration you spend around £7000 a year on this dismal accommodation is horrendous. I cannot wait to move into a house this year because student halls have been a waste of money and a joke.

The only way to describe it is Amazing". Totally worth the cost! Serene environment on a hill and at the same time at the bottom of a hill depending where you approach it from. Wide kitchen

Big rooms and beds. Lovely ensuite bathroom and spacious kitchens, large enough to allow 2 people to cook at the same time! Excellent placement in the campus, with good links to town and the uni.

The reception continuously closes earlier than their shift is supposed to end. If the reception closes at 4 then why is it closed at 3:40? It’s very frustrating especially when you’ve been out all day and want to pick up your packages but they’ve already closed early. Either stay till 4 or change your closing time.

As a parent I would say that the accommodation is great, it's warm and the reception staff very friendly and helpful, parcels have been received. The only downside is that you are relying on other students to keep the kitchen clean and tidy!

It’s an old place but renovated to become nice, modern and new. Amazing area for students, nice people.. just a bit expensive for food and groceries around the area

I would say that the best part of this accommodation is the really kind and helpful housekeeping and reception team. I left my accommodation early for summer and wasn't able to be there in person to hand my boxes to parcel collection. The housekeeping team helped me by handing me a trolley for me to carry my boxes to reception before my flight. Even though I had some problems and delay with the collection company, the reception team kept my boxes safe in the reception until they were collected. Dan even stayed in contact with me through email every day to notify me about the situation. The reception is also great when receiving student parcels.As for the students rooms, I stayed in Tyler Court B with double bed. The bed was really large and comfortable. The room has enough space for you to move inside easily. The bathroom gets cleaned by housekeeping a few times each term.I gave 4 stars because there are two things that have bothered me. Every Wednesday there is a test for fire alarms at 9 a.m. If you don't have any morning lessons on Wednesdays, you will wake up with the urge to have a heart attack because of the alarms. I wish the alarm testing was done at least in the afternoon when nearly all of the students are awake.Also, I wish there was some sort of punishment for students who purposely kept the kitchen dirty. Despite the warnings of the housekeeping and other students, some of my flatmates always left their dirty dishes in the out for more than a week, in which the scent and looks of it became unbearable.
