Square Chapel Arts Centre

1st time visit, what a great little venue. Perfect for watching a gig or a show. The bar area is great and looks like a nice place to call and have a coffee or bite to eat. Lots of books and colouring for kids. Will definitely come again.

I'd like to award more stars but the place seems beset with continual problems. It's a great location and the terrace a plus. Catering issues, film issues, no cash, pricey beers, all do not make for a thriving Centre. I don't want to see it close. After Piece Hall, it's a great attraction.

Two Stars simply because you have no facility to pay legal tender. A few weeks ago I attended the ACDC experience with a friend. We were looking forward to this and having a few drinks. I ordered two drinks and offered the payment in cash and it was refused! I stated that it was legal tender and both of us had bought cash out so we did not overspent. NOT MUCH CHANCE OF THAT. Our cash was refused the beers were thrown away and I had to go to different bar. Loss of sales, loss of custom. How do you expect to continue if you cannot pay in legal currency? I did complain that if my older relatives had come then they would not be allowed food or drink because they have no smart phone or cards to pay on. How is this acceptable to today's society? Also, the girl on the box office was made to make excuses in that the venue could not afford the insurance for money on the premises. Rubbish. I work in insurance so you were telling a fairy tale to someone who has an idea about this topic. Just be honest and say that you cannot be bothered and it is easier.

A few of us attended the 'Jubbs Comedy Club' last night in the Copper Auditorium and saw three great comedians and an energetic compere. It was a really fun club with plenty of laugh out loud moments, audience participation and enough interval times to top up at the bar. Looking forward to more! Great work Square Chapel.

The act itself was pretty good, but I would expect pink Floyd tribute band should have a top notch screen/walls and lights to accompany the band. The band faced few technical difficulties, more than half of the show was done without lasers and screens.Anyway, the band itself should rethink about the cheergirls singing in the background, looked like a circus act. Very out of place.Good selection of beers on tap.

First time visit here, went to see Oliver Pinder supported by Rushbonds.Had a great night, there was a great selection of beers, ales and ciders. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the most recent history of the place.

Great venue.Saw an excellent Bowie tribute band there, good acoustics. Great range of real ales at the bar, and good service too! Recommended.

Great venue. Spacious. Used the disabled parking arrangement, which went smoothly. Welcoming. Lovely staff. Good acoustics. Wanted to eat here in the evening but not available, which was our only disappointment. Disabled friendly venue. We had plenty of wheelchair space/ lifts. Would definitely return.
