Turkish Consulate General in Edinburgh

Staff was very welcoming and respectful. I applied for our new ID cards, registered my dual citizenship and collected my son's new passport. We also changed our home address, everything was done within 40 minutes. I was delighted to see that the staff were very helpful and understanding, excellent service.

The behavior of the employees there is very bad , They don't respect people at all and they are not nice, especially the girls, all the time angry and they always scream, especially with non-Turkish people. They should know that they are in The UK not in Turkey.Unfortunately I saw all the feedback is negative there are no positive commentsEmployees must be changed or they should change their negative natures.

Extremely rude staff members(my bad review for office desk staff only), because security people in this place really helpful. They try their best to assist everyone.Office staff members are wasting time, slow and with the smallest issue instead of trying to help they go against you in a rude way and they tell you to make another appointment, they dont understand we may travel 2-3-4-5 hours away from this consulate(because this is the only turkish consulate in Scotland), instead of understanding their citizen, they are careless and rude, it took 3 appointments to solve a simple procedure. At the end one of the senior / supervisor solved and complete my simple situation. Speacially 1 short girl with specs in the office extremely rude to people, she start shouting and then crying to her colleague when she is frustrated God knows why. Must be short girl syndrome.

Impossible to get an appointment and quite unhelpful. The online booking system only shows appointments from May 2024. Tried calling and was told to go to London via an agency instead that will cost over £200-300 without a guarantee of receiving the visa in time. This is supposedly the only two centres that process visas in the country. Terrible service and unhelpful. Spent multiple days trying to get assistance. Not worth a trip to Turkey.

One of the worst experiences.I have been waiting for more than 100 mins, yet no one came to interview me for the visa!!You need to open more windows to allow a smooth flow of the applications and make the life of the applicants easier!

There is notary and other services. They work great. Only problem is the waiting time for notary because people's requests might be completely different and intensive. It is not the problem caused by staff there. Just bear on mind this situation if you plan to buy a return ticket etc not to miss it.

A very simple operation of renewing" Türkish ID card took 30 minutes. Despite the fact that I arrived 5 minutes before my scheduled appointment

I made an appointment weeks ago and I booked my accommodation nearby. I travelled 200miles, arrived at my appointment early, only to find out they couldn't process my application. They accepted my appointment specifically for this application, and they even sent me reminder emails. They failed to inform me when I made my appointment (or before I travelled weeks after booking the appointment) that I had to go to London to do this, since I lived in Manchester. They are happy for their citizens to waste their money and time and limited holidays. I am just another ashamed citizen.
