Great small course near York Centre.Some 1* reviews here are ridiculous. 'I don't play golf' as one example. Reviews affect the business, if you haven't been to the course please don't review.Reasonable people: please report the pointless/unnecessary reviews to Google.I am a visitor and am in no way attached to the club. Please keep up the great work. I will definitely visit again.

Really good course to play at. Deceptively tricky as if you get the wrong side of the big trees you are in bother. Pretty straight and flat most the way round but as stated can catch you out.Well worth a round if you live in and around York

A pleasant surprise. 11hole course but don't let that put you off. The fairways are narrow so placement is the order of the day. The greens are some of the best in Yorkshire. A small friendly club and nice golfing experience

Great value and a very friendly club. You need to be aware that there are a number of shared fairways so 2 tees are next to each other. We played when the course was very empty. If the course was busier it would have been difficult and there would have been considerable waiting around.

An absolute hidden gem,a stone's throw from the centre of York.It might be only 10 holes but you play 8 holes again from different tees.A very good test of your golfing ability, and your course management. Good clubhouse and friendly members will make your visit memorable, good value for money! You will be back.

This club deserves our support owned and run by committee members. It is true that Tees are shared so you play across fairways but honestly a really challenging course. If you get into the trees getting out will be difficult.

Lovely little coarse ,grounds men deserve a medal for the upkeep of greens, like snooker tables

Really nice and friendly place to play golf, my son met his coach there, and the lady behind the bar made us feel so welcome. 100% recommend visiting.

A quirky course with 18 tees but only 11 greens.Greens 3 to 9 are played twice as they double up with holes 12 to 18 with slightly different tee positions on the second circuit. Only holes 1,2,10 and 11 are single use holes.Having said that, the course was in good condition and played well with true running greens. With plenty of mature trees around accuracy is key. A test for any standard of golfers.Friendly staff in the clubhouse.I didn’t see any sign of a pro shop but, asI was there to play a match against Heworth, I wasn't looking for the pro shop and there may well be one tucked away somewhere I didn't see.We had an enjoyable day especially as our team won 3.5 to 2.5 with my partner and I winning our match 5 and 4Well worth a visit.

Excellent compact course, 11 unique holes of which 7 are played twice for a round of 18. Lovely tree lined fairways on this course that has been around for a hundred years and this maturity is reflected in the quality of the greens. It's not the longest golf course but has some tricky holes based on the fact that lay up shots have to be precise as there are punishments either before the green or around it. Great to play on a cool crisp spring morning, excellent drainage means that it doesn't get bogged down even in the depths of winter. Excellent rates for students - £150 a year is unbeatable literally anywhere
