Not the best.Atmosphere and decor of the restaurant were lovely the food was terrible and over priced.The mushroom tart was dry and under seasoned, the salad that it was served with had no seasoning and the mushrooms again nothing.Moving to the polar opposite the haggis neeps and tatties were very salty predominantly from the neeps, haggis was over cooked which contributed.1 hour waiting timeKids meals again terrible with forgotten items.Truffle fries were on point (best part of the meal)The manger was apologetic but we were in the business for a half decent meal on a wet Saturday afternoon not an apology.

Food served tepid with no follow up from server to ask if everything was ok. Was a ‘festive’ menu event, but no effort was made to provide festive decor or crackers etc at the table. The dinning area was cold, overly bright with no music or atmosphere.

Lovely place, nice service, and two of the three meals were great. But... I had the Ox Cheek Pie. Pretty bland, the gravy was thin, tasteless and watery, and the single piece of carrot inside was rock hard - couldn't even get a knife through it. Mash was clearly microwaved on the plate, had that sort of skin on it and wasn't good at all. The glazed carrots on the side were OK, but why serve carrots as the only veg with a main that already has carrots in it? Some green beans or something would have been better. The fish and chips was pretty good, and my wife said the Sea Bass was good too, not sure what was up with the pie.

I’ve heard good reports about Broughty Ferry, Forgans so we went to try it out today. Not a great experience unfortunately. Highlighted rotten Potatoe (staff said it was bruised!) and although we turned down a replacement meal the staff left the offending Potatoe on the table! We waited an age to be seated in first place even though it didn’t look particularly busy and I’ve yet to see at least one member of staff smile. Maybe an off day for them but not a good experience…

Girlllllllll the olives. The Spanish Imported olives deserve to be placed on a gold pedastal and worshipped. Like not joking. Also, the vibes were immaculate during the Christmas season. Loved how cozy and luxurious everything felt. The food was fresh and creative. Would recommend for a party, gathering, or just even a fun dinner. A cloudy lemonade? I'll take 3. Go! Enjoy!

On a cold dreary day in the Ferry this spot is perfect to grab a warm cozy spot and full up on nourishment. I had the pea soup and burrata with an oat milk mocha. Just beautiful. Beautiful place for a family celebration or a date.

Abysmal service, after the issues we had we won't be back.They belatedly told us the items not available today which included their market menu deal. Vegan shepherd's pie was cold in the middle, replacemnet was requested and surprisingly came properly cooked. The gnocchi was under cooked too.When asked if we can pick up our forgans card we were told they'd just take 20% off then they forgot about the card. At this point we gave up (as we should have had a free main and a discount due to card benefit and the cold dish). Unsurprisingly went elsewhere for dessert.

Lovely ambiance and friendly staff! Food was great other than one dish which the staff was happy taking feedback for. Cozy booths for a nice brunch with friends. With also much more seating inside. Ambiance 5/5, food 3.5/5, service 4/5

Forgan's Broughty Ferry
I live in Canada and organized a celebration of life for our Mum with Forgan's Broughty Ferry. Everything was fantastic, right from the start. Prompt response to all my emails, and the all the staff were helpful and accommodating with our large group of 34. It was the perfect location for our gathering and made an emotional day very special. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed the Scottish dishes like the Ox Cheek Pie, Cullen Skink and Sticky Toffee Pudding. Most importantly, the staff on the day of our event were friendly and attentive. We highly recommend this restaurant for a large party or a small gathering. Thank you Forgan's!
