Barbara is very charming and is an expert dressmaker. Her prices are reasonable, considering her skill. I was delighted with my alterations. She knows how to flatter the figure and bring out the best in you and your clothing through her tailoring.

Came to alter the length of a dress, was advised by Barbara to alter the shoulders as well. I followed her advice as she is a dress maker but i wish i hadn't... If the alteration on length was fine, the work on the shoulders was done in such a simplistic way, it ended up creating a bulk and damaging the overall look of the dress. Only go there for very basic work, nothing too refined and do not let yourself getting tricked into accepting further alterations that you do not think an item needs

Highly recommend Barbara. She has altered many items of clothing for me in the past, all of extremely high quality. I therefore entrusted her with altering my wedding dress and the results were as expected, perfect! She is highly professional and friendly and I will continue to use her services in the future!

I cannot recommend Barbara the Dressmaker enough! She was able to alter a sample wedding dress I had bought (from size 14 to 6) and tailor it to a style to suit me. Her expert advice was so helpful. I could not have asked for anything better and am so grateful to her.

Barbara did a fantastic job on my wedding dress 4years ago, completely re-styling it to my liking. She also made a beautiful 3m veil to go with it. The workmanship and detail was brilliant. I saved some of the silk material and asked Barbara to make my daughter’s Christening dress this year. My daughter looked stunning and Barbara was so patient. I couldn’t recommend her enough.

I will always use Barbara for my future alternations!I was really nervous about having my bridesmaids dress altered to fit me for a close friends wedding but Barbara was amazing! She is really friendly and knew exactly what to do and when she was finished the dress fit perfectly.Location is really close to Bond Street station so really convenient.

The shop I bought my wedding dress from altered my dress so badly and it was huge and didn't fit on my hips at all. The lining inside also had so many holes in it!! Barabara came to the rescue!!!Not only did she fix everything she also made the dress fit like a glove!!! I was also obviously very nervous after the shops mistake but Barabara made me feel so calm and I knew it would be perfect!My dress looked perfect on the day all thanks to Barabara.

I would definitely recommend Barbara! She is a great professional. Also, she was very polite and helpful right from the beginning. I found her on the internet, she answered my e-mail within a few hours and she agreed to see me on a last minute appointment before my christmas holiday.... on a Saturday! I really appreciated the fact that, although she would only take my body measurements (for a dress I was planning to order online), she was very professional, very helpful and took the time to answer all my questions. Her studio is a bit small, but it is in a great location in central London. I m sure I m going to need her for my alterations!
