I am really upset about my treatment and the lack of safety regulations at this store and warn others about going here. Following current guidelines I wore a mask. There were around 4 people and one server in this small convenience store, the size of the store forces you to be under 2 meters from each other. I was the only person wearing a mask. When I approached the till the gentleman serving me (not wearing a mask) asked what my mask was all about, I explained that current guidelines say we have to wear a mask in stores. He responded that I shouldn’t believe everything I am told. I then explained that we had to follow these guidelines as this was experts advice. He responded that there was no evidence for this and that breathing was our only right of freedom.He was not only directly risking mine and other customers health by not wearing a mask but more than that he was refusing to wear one and telling others not to wear one.They had a notice on the door saying about 2 meter distance and the plastic shield protecting the server so on the face of it appear to be following guidelines but from my experience they are not at all and actively ignoring the current rules.My husband is high risk so I can never return to this shop and there are many elderly people in the neighbourhood that are being put at risk. I think they need to receive help for this and educated about the importance of this rule and not to spread mis-information.
