Friendly staff but there are some things that didn’t make me put 5 starts…I booked via website and never received any confirmation. Then I sent them an email and they confirmed but it was just a reply with information without any greetings / etc. a bit rude and unprofessional but whatever happensNot comfortable the absence of a way of booking over the phone and paying by cash….Also they boys who are getting the boat to the station and putting us on this could have been more friendlier and look more keen to help as my mum needed help and I had to ask them to give her a hand to get out of the boat, which I think they need to do with the common sense as she needed help and they had to make sure she can get there safe on the board. Our boat was a bit late, but overall we had amazing experience on the river , the canoe was a good quality and very stable and the price per person was reasonableThe river is beautiful and it has been a pleasure to spend the time like thatI think 2 hours is too much so if you are doing it for the first time, I think an hour would be more than Enough !The location is beautiful although a bit far from the centerBut it’s more safer I believe although there was a bigger boat with tourists traveling occasionallyHighly recommend!!!!!

Had a good time here even though my family was not so great at punting. Came on a beautiful Sunday in August, we had booked online the night before and got a confirmation. We were accommodated even though we came late and all staff were very friendly and nice. The boat was cleaned and well kept. The ride was nice even though we had no idea what we were doing and ended up rowing half of it together and saw a few trees along the way. Overall a fun afternoon and would fully recommend to anyone

A fantastic experience for couples! You can pre-book online, we originally booked for Punting but had no idea what it was or what we would be doing.I was a bit of a “punter” and was terrible at being one, for those of you who book punting and don’t know what it is, it is not easy! You stand on the back of the boat and push a large stick into the water until it hits the floor and you drag yourself along. We attracted quite and crowd and looked rather ridiculous. After managing to prod ourselves back to the shore the guys here were really helpful and we swapped out into a row boat. They have thee types of boats for hire.Punting boatsRowing boatsCanoeing boatsIt costs £8 per person for your first hour and an additional £4 per person for the second hour.I would advise doing two hours as you are then able to go all the way up stream and see the weir by a local restaurant where you can park up your boat and get some food.Everyone is advised to take a photo to of the local number in case you are in need of rescue. I have attached this photo just in case!

The staff at the Bath Boating Station were friendly and welcoming. We hired a rowing boat after visiting the Bathwick Boatman for Sunday Lunch. There were 4 adults and 1x under 4yrs child with us on the boat and we had a great time. The Bath Boating Station is in a nice location and it was a lot of fun. I think a couple of things did let the Bath Boating Station down. First of all I think the price for 1 hour is very pricey. It is £8 per adult as the prices are per person not per boat. So we could have had 2 boats for the same price but we all wanted to go in one together. You could pay an extra £4 for extra hours or chose to pay £20 per person for the whole day. There are various safety instructions listed outside of the Bath Boating Station by the kiosk that you need to follow when hiring a boat and you must bring the boat back within the scheduled time or you incur a charge. I think the opening hours need to be made clearer as some people were getting confused thinking they could still go down to the Boating Station and hire a boat until 17:30 when actually they close at 16:30 and boats have to be returned by 17:30. Overall we enjoyed the experience however I probably wouldn't do it again unless the price was made cheaper or they did like a family package deal.

Really beautiful place deserves a 5 star. However! We have been turned away with a dog, so dogs strictly arent allowed. We will have to come back without our dog. So frustrated, we drove all the way from Wales…Ps there was another couple turned away with a dog, it has to be more clear that dogs arent allowed when you are making a booking. (Apparently their dogs can be territorial so they arent taking any risks which is understandable) A gentleman in front of us has been turned away as he was a solo traveller.

Just wonderful. Stayed at Toad Hall for 3 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The location was perfect. Beautiful view of the river and a 12 minute walk into Bath high street. Even used the free boat a couple of mornings which dropped us at Pulteney weir.

We had such a fun time punting! Each boat takes around 6. It’s a great activity to do with friends or family. It is such a peaceful river to meander down and plenty of wildlife to see. Staff are very helpful and accommodating. The boats are based on a victoria style and apparently some of the boats are over 100 years old. A highly recommended if you are looking for a fun day out in Bath.

Thank you for a wonderful 3-mile trip in the rowing boat you provided for us today up the Avon towards Bathampton Mill. The stork and damselflies watched us out - keeping to the right of the channel (mainly) - and watched us back again. The family thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
