After waiting nearly 90 minutes, I get a call to hear that the delivery cannot be delivered if they have to go up stairs. My message when placing the order specified top floor. (£2 delivery fee). The same person delivered here before. They also got the order wrong (sauce). Rice and the sauce had a burnt after taste. Unpleasant and cold. I should have read the other reviews, but my previous order was lovely.

Haven’t received my order before writing this so don’t no if the foods even nice but waited over 1 hour for the food to come and the lady over the phone was very cheeky no manners at all

House special chow main was burnt and dry little to no meat. I asked for a pinch of salt on my chips they but enough on to give a rhino blood cloth. My meal ended up in the bin. Avoid I will definitely not be going there again

Solid place for a takeaway when you can't be bothered to cook. Food arrives hot and taste is good. My usual takeaway place.

Poor service and worse front of house. After no apology when I rang, just 'yes it's late it will be a few more minutes' (it was 40mins late) the food arrived. Starter was very tasty hence its worth a one star, the rest was average at best and way overpriced. I wish I had read the reviews before I used them. I am as likely to use them again as they are to read this review. They are as likely to post a response as I am to get a unicorn for Christmas.

Hands down worst Chinese I’ve ever had house special fried rice 2 prawns 1 piece of dried chicken 3 bits of overcooked beef absolutely shi#te get yourself an Iceland frozen number used to be lovely aswel AVOID

Awful just don’t bother!! Food was shocking. Rice dried up and noodles definitely not fresh. My main wasn’t what it was supposed to be, very sweet and had no spice. Both mains sauces were like water and tasted strange Won’t be ordering again a waste of £40!!!

Normally great food but the last meals were awful.Chicken, rice, curry sauce and chips. The rice was well overcooked, not sure how long ago the chicken was cooked, topped with chips and congealed curry sauce. Only got a 3 star because previous meals have been good.

Jesus the prices have shot up at The River!! Chicken wings almost £7, ribs almost £8 and KP Chow mein £8.50!! There are other very good chinese delivery places around, this used to be very good for a lot of (not all) dishes. More sensibly priced high quality outlets should be considered, I may retry River at some point but it will have to be outstanding for me to be a regular again.
