The place was packed on a Monday night... Generally a good sign for a restaurant... the Monday special offer was unbelievably good. There were four of us, shared starters, 4 mains and shared desserts with 2 rounds of drinks and 2 large bottles of water... Less than £150 inc. a tip. We have had terrible experiences for almost double the price in recent time so this is worth writing about. Service was fantastic (special mention for Sarah who was attentive and knowledgeable about the food). The food was really good and all plates were cleaned. Special mentions for the rotated salmon and the rib eye steak (worth every penny of the extra £4 on the Monday offer) and, on Sarah's recommendation, the Sicilian Lemon Tart was not too sweet, sharp lemon flavour and very light. A great way to finish the meal. There were so many tempting options on the menu... We'll be back... Soon... Thanks for making it a great Monday night out!

Beautiful surroundings, tasty food, brilliant service and reasonable prices...what more could you want.This was our second visit, whilst meeting with friends. We are not local to this area...and we wish we were, if this is the standard of affordable dining out in Essex!Most importantly, they are able to manage slightly complex dietary requirements with ease and confidence...so I was actually able to eat a decent, rounded, full meal. Thank you

We booked a group meal as our walking group's festive celebration. The service was very good, the staff attentive without being overbearing. The food was delicious and all courses of all meals were delivered at the same time. We had the festive menu which provided plenty of choice. We would definitely recommend this venue for a lovely meal in pleasant surroundings. We will happily return again.

This restaurant is definitely worth a visitStaff were amazing, friendly and very welcoming. All the staff were very intertwined with the amazing chefs at Ego, they all had a great knowledge of the menu and were very passionate about what was on the menu. The plated food looked just as good as it tasted. We opted for both the specials they had on that night which was a duck breast and steak. Both tasting phenomenal.Would happily visit again.

First time at Ego. Lovely decor, great attention to detail.It was a very cold morning and they had log fires alight to try and make it as cosy as possible.We had breakfast which was tasty and well presented.Very good menu, we are going back again next week.

Love this restaurant, superb food, such amazing offers, it is always so busy but your not on top of eachother - so booking I would recommend booking advance especially on deal days, like half price steak night and kebab nights. Lovely staff and would highly recommend it.
