Buzz Gym Oxford Westgate

Whilst the gym does have the best equipment in Oxford, the gym is frequently OVER capacity at standard busy times with no weights free at all. Because of this I have switched gyms, but upon cancelling my membership I was informed I would still have access until the end of the month I had paid for… nope, my access was cancelled 3 weeks before it was meant to.

I spent a number of months with John Balaban as my personal trainer.John has great knowledge of machines and exercises and took the time to demonstrate their proper use.John demonstrated his professional understanding of the body and knew the exercises to properly take into account my scoliosis.John also made his sessions accessible through tiered rates for lower income trainees.John is personable and generous with his time. My sessions with John got me into the gym and gave me the confidence to go by myself.Thank you John!

Best gym in Oxford, no questions asked. Gigantic gym. Very central, accessible through Westgate. Only downside is that it can get extremely crowded (especially between 5pm and 9pm). Very well maintained and open 24/7 almost everyday of the year.

Best gym in Oxford ❤️Buzz is more than just a gym. For me, it’s a safe space to relax and grow; and the environment provides just the right ambience for that. My fave part of buzz gym are the staff. They are so friendly and super enthused to help - what more can you ask for?Been here for a year now and it’s been a remarkable journey for me. The gym per se in good, kept tidy organised i love the look. Problem is the staff. The guy that has always the sunglasses is great and another couple of pt, the rest is just terrible. Not respecting customers I saw one of them shouting to a random person in the middle of the gym, taking 50 minute for 5 reps at a leg press with gym busy and queue just for them forgot someone ask and give the machine to someone else meanwhile you are looking away, leave without cleaning minutes and minutes lost cause pt are chit chat with customers holding machines for an infinite amount of time in a gym which is just busy. Rules not apply customers not followed ppl are leaving everything everywhere even if against the rules no one never follow up or talk to anyone or enforce rules. “Clean after you use the machine” is an optional rule if you are not doing it no one will ever tell you anything. You need to go in gym attire, random ppl working out on machines with dirty jeans. If you going overnight, as there is no one, is a great place, don’t go during the day, and if you have better option don’t go at all.Edit:As by the answer received there we as acknowledging shown I just file a complaint. Awesome gym, all staff are so welcoming and accommodating! Very busy and popular environment, yet always kept spotless by staff and you can tell all the equipment is well looked after! Staff are always available for help and support, as well as being easily approachable.Gutted I don’t have the childcare to continue attending, but will definitely be going back once that’s sorted.PT’s are absolutely amazing! Always willing to give support and advice related to anything health and fitness! Absolutely amazing all round!
