St Margaret’s Pastures Sports Centre

This sports centre is the place to go for inclusive sport in the city. Development hockey from pri.ary school upwards through youth hocking to senior and elite hockey. Junior, youth, senior, women's, men's, mixed and veteran Over 45s team together with walking hockey for those not able or wishing to run around the pitch. This club has developed stars of the England and GB hockey world right through to current Olympic and Commonwealth Gold Medal winners and former England and GB captains and the best goalkeeper in the hockey world! This club welcomes players new and old, together with volunteers, officials, coaches and supporters with bar and catering on-site in a setting with parking adjacent to the family -friendly Abbey Park. Dogs welcome inside and outside the clubhouse and the Sports Centre is easily accesible on foot from Leicester Station and St Margaret's and Highfields Bus Stations. The centre also offers pitch hire not just for the new Olympic Hockey waterbased Astroturf pitch but for individual smaller purpose built 5 or 7 a side football pitches together with a warm up and or social area outside. There is plentiful outdoor seating together with changing rooms and toilets.

Since the hockey club took over, the siren for the end of the games is either late or non-existent.The staff are too lazy to unlock the gates so you'll have to walk all the way around, even then the pitches are often locked.Place is understaffed so hard to find someone to unlock the pitches.Sometimes there are no staff there - we had to wait 20 minutes once for one to turn up and unlock the pitch for us.Shame as the facilities are good.

Nice pitches, really lovely staff, well priced menu for drinks and snacks and I love the new outdoor seating area. The ability to order and pay online with my phone is a welcome bonus too. Good parking very close too.

Been playing here for many years now and it's a great place to play. Big sandturf pitch and 4 smaller rubber crumb pitches. The only problem I have with it is it doesn't seem to be regularly cleaned outside and in. Quite often I go down and see empty bottles and rubbish that i remember was there from the week before.

I play 6 a side here every week in the power league. A good competitive league and decent facilities.

They run school holiday camps which were really well ran. The place is clean and tidy and great for sports parties. Exceptionally well priced.

A great place to play football on 1of 4 7-aside pitches, with a rubber crumb base. Lots of different charities and school groups play during the day and leagues and adults playing in the evening.The new water base hockey pitch looks fantastic and I look forward to finally being able to play on it.The new refurbished lounge looks great too, so much brighter and and cleaner (those tile carpets were way past it)
