Pearson Professional Centre - Derby

I would say that the Derby Centre was very efficient and polite in contrast to the dire experience I had renewing cscs cards at the hands of their stazi. The rules on personal possessions are bit brutal but probably necessary. The one area where they could be more helpful is on the website - it needs to provides more help on nearby parking - I expect the woke gen z who scribed 'no on site parking' gets dropped off by an adult or catches the bus, but those of us who drive from the real world in vans and cars and travel from outside the area by means other than public transportation would appreciate a bit of a clue please.

Not the most Professional Centre when you've got to go park on the road somewhere! Otherwise fine

Booked a citb test for 4.15 got down there 15 minutes early. Everything was locked up with a closed sign on the door. Waited until 5.45 and still nobody. There was even young people waiting to do there driving theory test.So unprofessional and wouldn't recommend booking your test at this place.

The test centre is located close to these two local folks, keen to assist with any queries that you might have.

Their Google web site says park 0.7 miles away in a coin only car park when you can park across the road for 2 hours for free! Not helpful when cash is not used under Covid conditions. Also their own car park is blocked off and sat completely empty, which has ample space for 20+ cars. Don’t be late or they won’t let you in. (I was threatened as I was a minute early, but was told that the time given is to be sat down for). Staff aren’t as happy or as accommodating as the cheerful Chesterfield staff. I felt like I was back in school 40 years ago, shocking. Went back for another test 4 days later and although the car park was being used, it’s only for other onsite businesses. The staff were more relaxed, if not a little stressed coping with Covid and large numbers of people. A better experience this time round.

I had the Theory Test last Sunday. The staff were very helpful and informative. They clearly follow the government guidance on social distancing. I had a problem with the hazard perception test. The first four clips were disqualified because of the “way I click” on them. Although I didn’t have any problems with the succeeding clips. I panicked and told the staff about it. He explained to me very well and in a calm manner which was rather reassuring. He told me that they are just a test centre and don’t work for DVSA. He also suggested I get the results first. Luckily, I passed.

Very disappointed that was not allowed inside until the last minute. Having have to travel there on public transport i was very early as wanted to ensure i arrived on time. Had to stand outside for 40 minutes in the roasting heat. It would be better if they would take into consideration people who have arrived on foot / public transport and let them gain entry into the building

Well I have been there twice both time I had bad experience with the front desk staff members. They all old people there and always angry, they just seem like they do not want people to go there, I do care what is going in their personal life but I have paid to take a test and they get paid to serve whom show up for test. Honestly we people pay their wages, if no one go there the test canter going to close so they better appreciate that and do what they need to do.

Turned up 15 minutes late after I was driving round the wrong place (not their fault obviously). Had been running to the centre to hopefully be let in, after driving for 2and a half hours. I said ik sorry I'm late and the lady behind the desk was very rude. She just said well you cant be tested then. She then asked why I was late, to which I replied about the sat nav being set wrong, and she just said you dont get any brownie points for telling me that" . VERY unprofessional."
