Makro Ipswich

Our company is hosting a little event so thought we’d join and use Makro to keep costs down. Registered online, went to store to be greeted by an old blonde lady at the help desk who was really quite rude and looked at us as if we’d just spat at her. She told us to go to reception, where thankfully, the staff were much more friendly and pleasant. Prices in the store were not cheap at all and eventually we decided it would be cheaper for us to buy from Tesco than Makro on a lot of things. Unfortunately, the grumpy lady we met first was also the last person we met at the checkout and her mood had not improved a lot. She really should get a refund from the charm school she went too. Won’t be going back that’s for sure.

I've been buying my consumables for my business from Makro for the last 4+ years and have only ever found the staff friendly and helpful, especially Wendy. There is a good selection of goods but do check prices. Wendy we love you.

Card sorted nice and quick in store, good prices. Recommend it at all

I have always loved this place due to the reasonable priced meat and fish (0 VAT) All the staff are nice and helpful and cheery apart from Wendy who lets down the whole team by being a complete misery guts and rude to the customers at every opportunity. Would have been 5 stars were it not for her consistent rudeness. Reading other reviews it appear she has been obnoxious to customers for quite some time now.

Clean. Easy to park cheap products. Helpful staff lots of different ranges in products. Very good but you need a macro card

Been a Makro customer for well over 30 years but in that time have seen the range of products reduced dramatically, and since being taken over by Booker they have reduced the variety of goods even more. There are no great savings and many items can be purchased as cheap if not cheaper in supermarkets. The cafe is no longer run in-house, it has been farmed out and is now expensive and poor vfm. Butcher and dairy are still good and worth the trip. Good for bulk buying and there are some good deals but the hey day of Makro as we knew it have long since past .

You can find cheaper deal on local markets and stuff he’s rude some point

The staff will treat you like dirt.

Good place to buy bulk items. Some staff are so unfriendly and unhelpful. When we asked the woman on the floor to scan something for the price of an item. She couldn't be bothered But she was happy to talk to a friend who was shopping and even stop to show photos of kids from her phone.When paying at the till the woman with coloured hair was too impatient serving us and so abrupt. Being polite to customers was somehow amiss.
