Manors Multi Storey Car Park

Good price, plenty of space. Cool architecture.

A car park that has spaces, but there are reasons for that.First, getting in and out is tight with channelled lanes that have awkward kinks with high kerbs. I tried too hard to miss them but clipped the left kerb with my back wheel. Thankfully, only the tyre hit the kerb, not the 19” alloy. NCC please straighten this out!Second, getting from the car park into the city centre requires you to experience the T Dan Smith, 60s vision of urban planning at its finest - negotiate a labyrinth of damp, neglected underpasses or via partly cut off overpasses without any sufficient wayfinding for guidance.Third, it’s run down, water seeps through the concrete slabs from upper levels, and could leave nasty mineralised deposits that could etch into paint.With redevelopment ongoing in that locality, there’s an opportunity to plough some of the value gained into refurbishing the car park to meet the needs of today - easy to get in and out, wider spaces, lighting, better brighter surfacing, water proofing and pay on exit. Also, why waste parking space on the other level on a solar farm when they could be mounted as parking shelters on the upper levels. Finally, it would be good to explore options for the Swan House Roundabout to make it easier to get into the city centre.

First time I've used it. When first driving in, it resembles a post apocalyptic wasteland with bits of nature re-claiming it. It is very run down, various broken machines and feels isolated. I could smell skunk being smoked at 10.30am. I did come across a cleaner, god bless her, must have their work cut out for them. I wouldn't recommend using this place in the evening if you area lone female or of a nervous disposition as it feels very isolated and generally sketchy. But it does the job during the day of somewhere to park.

Amazing staff. Tonight we were 10 mins late and returned to a locked car park. Totally our fault. Attendants had spotted us walking back and returned to unlock and let us out. Top blokes. Thank you

Poorly lit. Does not feel that safe at night especially for women I've spoken too. The lights are between the pillars on the ceilings so they don't illuminate the space properly.Cheaper than most car parks in the area and with good availability. More spacious than most multi-storeys.

Reasonably priced and near the town. Probably not great for the handicapped though.

Brilliant car park with plenty of spaces. Prices absolutely spot on and only around five minutes walk into the city centre. We will always use this car park.

Decent. Reasonable price. Easy to get to. Usually plenty spaces on level 3 or 4. However not great for prams. The exit to the overpass which comes out near Laing art gallery is between levels 3 and 4 but the lift only goes to those floors and not to the inbetween so you need to get someone to help you lift pram up or down the steps.

Central location, great price. Pay using your Paybyphone app. From the outside, it is not the most attractive car park. The Nissan Micra prefers a more modern appearance to its parking facilities. Once inside though, parking on the 5th floor, the car was well pleased with the view. Looking south, the Tyne Bridge was clearly visible. Also, located next to the railway, the car was able to watch the regular passing of the trains which helped pass the time as we visited the shops that we we accessed via the pedestrian bridge that leaves from the 5th floor. All in all a fine car park.
