From the minute I arrived I felt welcome , the staff couldn't do enough to accommodate. The atmosphere was lovely warm and welcoming. The food was amazing, sooo good in fact we booked in for the following week before we left. Really great experience the staff made it extra special

For whatever reason, the staff were not happy that we were a large group of 20. One of the waitresses" said that it would be a hassle for us to pay separately

went for something cheap and filling and to our suprise it was absolutely delicious! the ultimate roast yorkie wrap, would highly recommend for something so cheap, yet so tasty and filled us up!

Really enjoyed this 'retro' experience. Retro in that I haven't been to a Toby Inn for a very long time and haven't seen the ornamental 'jugs' for even longer but this was a change. Really bug car park and easy access off the main road.Clearly a corporate stamp on the interior decor and layout that didn't detract at all from the happy welcome we received on arrival. We were shown to our seats and drinks orders taken whilst we looked at he menu. Very pleasant and well informed waitress who didn't rush us and was engaging with our party.We decided on the carvery. A really good experience at the servery, chef being really generous and absolutely cheerful. Plenty of food with lovely Yorkshire pudding. There was a choice of Pork, Gammon, Beef and Turkey and I forgot to count but I don't think I'd be exaggerating if I said there were at least 8 vegetable dishes, cream carrots with leak and potato, peas, cabbage, cauliflower cheese, carrots, mashed potatoes, cauliflower, plus the 'dirtiest' roast potatoes ever. Cover in reduced thick meat juices made them almost irresistible. Normal, crisp roasters were also there and stuffing. Gravy was as always, smooth and plentiful with any number of sauces.A well presented carvery enhanced by the relaxed atmosphere created by the chef and waiting staff.The food was excellent. Beautifully cooked and filling. We were checked on by the waitress who thankfully didn't just say 'enjoy' but was sincere when saying she hoped we enjoyed our meal.Quick dessert of ice-cream and honeycomb with chocolate sauce and another mint flavoured ice-cream creation. Both were superb.All in all, a relatively inexpensive midweek evening out in a clean and safe environment, where the food atmosphere and staff were excellentThank you to those that contributed. I shall be back there pretty soon I think.

Lumpy gravy, undercooked veg. Staff are very nice though. Visited here a few times and each time it's consistently bad. Sadly, tries too many times to bother coming back. It looks like at busy times they can't keep up hence the undercooked veg as taking it out too early. No excuse for the gravy though, takes a few minutes and should never be lumpy. A shame as as tobies go, this one is in quite good repair and clean. The manager should be tasting the food on a regular basis to see if there's an issue along with the head chef.

Greeted by a warm & friendly lady who escorted us to our table. A lovely waitress arrived within a couple of minutes, introduced herself and took our drinks order. Quick efficient service - with a smile.Enjoyed a tasty carvery with nice fresh vegetables, all well presented.Waitress made a point of checking that we were all happy with the meal and brought another round of drinks over for us.Very relaxing atmosphere, never felt rushed.

It was the first time for us at a Toby Inn and it definitely won't be the last! We received a warm welcome when we arrived and shown to our table. Then our waitress, Rebecca, came to explain the menu and take our drinks orders. I enjoyed delicious roast turkey with all the trimmings. There was a large selection of vegetables to choose from and they were perfectly cooked too. The dessert didn't disappoint either. Warm chocolate brownie served with vanilla ice cream, which was lovely.It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and parking was easy as there is a good sized car park.

We came along with 10 residents from our home who have learning difficulties, there were also 5 members of staff.The staff at Toby were very accommodating & very patient & supportive towards our residents the whole time we were there.They provided their conservatory for our meal which was set back in the restaurant, out of the way a little but still able to hear the Christmas carols playing for us to sing along to.We all had an amazing time & the food was excellent!Compliments to all the kitchen staff on the delicious food.

Only good point is it is near to where we live.We booked a table for breakfast. Which wasn’t reserved not that it matter as there wasn’t really anyone there. When I thought I was telling the lady about our table booking she was actually taking our food and drink order so we ended up not really ordering what we needed or wanted. I asked for decaf tea they didn’t have any so I had juice instead which wasn’t in the unlimited refills.We had to ask for some veggie sausages to be cooked as we hadn’t been asked about this when we walked in and our order was taken. They came out undercooked and obviously microwaved.The rest of the food was cold, bacon over cooked and hard. No white bread for toast had to ask for it to be brought out which meant cold breakfast was even colder. My husband had to hunt down a tea spoon for his tea. The lady did come and give us a refund for one of our child’s breakfasts as we were charged for our baby who obviously wasn’t needing a breakfast. There was no atmosphere staff weren’t friendly or welcoming and we left feeling let down, hungry and miserable. We won’t be going again.

Collected a too good to go box. Contents had been prepackaged for me and collected was well organised.The actual food was terrible quality. Potatoes were very undercooked. I Ordered a veggie roast but only had potatoes, carrots and spouts. Where was the cauliflower cheese, stuffing, Yorkshire, green veg, parsnips?Last time I visited, the food was terrible too.Will never visit or order again, total waste of time and effort.
