We have used them for years. They bend over backwards to be accommodating. May not be the cheapest but they have been really supportive with our cats and challenges over the years

We needed an emergency appointment for our dog. Everyone that worked there was so friendly, professional and reassuring. Couldn't have asked for more.

During the final hours of my elderly cat’s life on 09/07/2023, we contacted Park Vet’s on call vet to attend an at home euthanasia if possible. What we were met with was what I consider a markedly vile and callous display of inconsiderate behaviour from the male vet who answered. We were immediately advised that the cost of this service would be very high, which respectfully we were happy to pay given our primary concern was the comfort and end of life care for our cat. However, despite this willingness to pay a very high cost for the service, the vet immediately followed this up by saying that he felt we should consider “we would be taking him away from other genuine emergency cases” and that if one of these calls would come in during the procedure, “he would just leave”. The tone of this during the call was one of utter contempt and lacked any level of empathy or compassion during what was one of the hardest calls I have had to make with my family. There was no questions about my cat’s health, there no empathy, there was nothing to indicate any level of concern. Just incredibly blunt and cold retorts that seemed to reflect the financial interests of the practice as opposed to their oath to render aid, especially when the cost to do so is half of my month’s wage.Respectfully, we had taken both my cat and dog here for a year or so before this, albeit intermittently as their health has been good. While I wish to stress that while we haven’t had any issues with treatment, I have always had a deep fear of what is ultimately a living, breathing being used as a cash cow and not treated with empathy. While there was never an incident prior to this that made me believe this was the case, in my cat’s waning years this situation had always been my fear, I just didn’t expect to be treated with such contempt at such a vulnerable point.I am left with no other belief that my cat, my family and I were treated and classified as such because he was not as financially beneficial as, in the words of the vet “a dog being run over.”We had a follow-up call from another member of the practice following this call, which was appreciated and between her and previous standards of care, are the sole reasons this review is not at one star, as this person was genuinely concerned regarding the situation and above all else, the welfare of my cat and ensuring he received the appropriate standard of End Of Life Care.We have taken the initiative at her offer to raise a complaint internally. In summary and to be absolutely clear; as far as I have seen, we have had good standards of care whenever we have taken them into practice, and the follow-up call confirms to me there are both good people there, as well as a good standard of care toward animals. However, and I do not say this lightly, this call tonight made at one of the most vulnerable states I have ever allowed myself to be in where I was met with such a blatant disregard of care both toward myself and family and my cat, has not only made me feel incredibly aggrieved, but deeply concerned about the genuine culture surrounding care of what was an extension of my family. I cannot in good faith believe that I can trust the entirety of their team to care for my animals, my family, as I would expect at a baseline standard. It is this lack of faith that has caused me to give the star level I have, and I would at best advise anyone using this service to scrutinise the care given to your animals, and at worst avoid at all costs using services here in favour of one that can be trusted to provide care, especially at critical events such as the one we just experienced.

Whilst on holiday, our elderly collie was taken ill, the vet and team was very responsive and friendly, was able to book an appointment quickly, unfortunately our dog took a turn for the worse, but the team were wonderfully supportive to me and family at very difficult time. A belated thank you to a wonderful, supportive and caring team, who were very empathic at such a difficult time for us, the care you showed as we made our final goodbye was truly dignified and we can't thank you enough for professional care shown.

THIS VET IS AWESOME!I had such a good experience with this vet. They were immense. It was the first time I’d been to a vet and they were so good with me and my hamster. They fitted in a 17:45 (out of office hours) appointment on the very day I rang up and they handled the visit so well. Milo had a minor infection and they administered medicines which solved the issue after a week. The girl who dealt with me (didn’t get her name but she was young and wears glasses), was particularly fantastic. She checked Milo thoroughly and was so cool and friendly to talk to.The consultation and prescription fees were also very reasonable.I’ll definitely be using them again, should I require further help.

The team at Park Vets are exceptional. The care that our dog Lottie received over the last two years has been exceptional. It was clear how passionate, skilled and caring all the vets, nurses and reception staff are. Our Lottie was made a fuss of, and despite having surgery and more, she trotted in happily. We sadly lost lottie to cancer but we couldn't have wished for better care for her, putting her quality of life first at every turn. Thank you to you all.

We were on holiday when our greyhound Stella started limping suddenly, and then on Sunday morning her paw swelled up. The emergency phone service was so helpful and we were able to get a quick appointment at the Park Veterinary Hospital. Katie and the rest of the staff were so friendly - Katie quickly diagnosed the problem, and booked us in for the same day to sedate Stella and fix the issue (a crack in her pad with piece of gravel that had got deep into it). After the treatment and antibiotics, Stella made a rapid recovery. The service from Park Hospital, and at a subsequent check up at the affiliated Hope Valley Vets was outstanding.
