Art House Gallery

A lovely gallery and an owner who took time to talk to me about the painting in which I was interested. Galleries can sometimes be intimidating places if you don't know a lot about art but see something you really like - not this gallery. Friendly and welcoming. Pop in if you're in St Ives and soak it up!

The owner is rude and obnoxious. It’s a lovely gallery and my husband was seriously contemplating purchasing through the website, as he wanted to consider his purchase. As we were leaving without buying anything the owner decided to make rude comments saying that we “were making an excuse” not to purchase. Well I can say for sure that we definitely won’t be and if I was an artist I would seriously reconsider showcasing my work there and giving this rude woman any sort of commission. If you don’t want to deal with the public, don’t own a gallery.

Rude and discriminatory staffWe thought long and hard before posting this review, but our experience was so out of sync with all our other encounters in St Ives.We enjoyed looking at the art - the staff made every effort to tell us about the art - but her whole demeanour changed when we went to leave without buying anything - she told us we had wasted her time! She then went on to insult my partner for being American, as apparently they are less likely to buy art than Brits, or so she says.The whole experience put a bitter taste in the mouth in what was a lovely morning walking around St Ives. Don’t visit this gallery, unless you are certain of buying something (which is difficult to know before you have seen any of the paintings!)

What a fantastic gallery ran by educated, intelligent and inclusive staff.This is a gallery for everyone.Never before have I seen such a cohesive collection of incredible work and artists in one place.The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and are excited to explain what they know about each piece of work you might express an interest in.The work inside is very much the vibe of the place - POSITIVE VIBES! There really are price point and styles for any art lover.My husband and I have wanted to purchase some art since the start of our marriage over ten years ago, and of all our worldly travels have never been even tempted by anything we’ve seen…until we visited here and bought four wonderful pieces of art!To be honest, I could have bought more had I not used most of my savings!This place is an absolute gem and we will of course be back!

Lovely selection of local art for all tastes

Entered shop to be told I should knock and wait before entering , also I must wear a face maskWow ! I wouldn’t mind but there was nobody in the shop at the time , do they wish to sell anything ?I’m not going into pros & cons of face covering ( people should really read the data ) even when I explained that I’m exempt due to medical issues she said I could not enter , of course they have the right to refuse service as I have the right to buy else where
