Old Catton Medical Practice

I am always nervous to take my kids to the doctors, today I had no childcare & was desperate to see someone , Dr Andrew Watts healed my son just by his pleasant jokes and welcoming reception. We all walked out feeling confident and happy. Thank you so much for lighting up our souls & helping us.

The practice has always seen me in good time. I think the messaging facility on the website is very useful and I’ve always had a prompt reply. The staff are friendly and helpful. Thank you

I NEVER review anything, but the staff at the practice today were beyond wonderful. The nurse my son had for his flu vaccination was so incredibly lovely and made him feel completely at ease - literally not a peep from him - he'll never fear a vaccination that's for sure! On top of that, she also noticed straightaway that something wasn't quite right with myself (a little shocked from a minor collision in the car park moments earlier) and she was so helpful and caring. I'm just gutted I didn't catch her name because was wonderful.

I don’t understand the poor ratings for my doctors. OK, so they’re not perfect and things do go wrong, stuff happens in all things but 1 star? Really? I can only assume some people have unrealistic expectations. I love the telephone triage system; that really does work. When I really needed to see a doctor, I was seen in less than TWO minutes (I live just around the corner) from telephone call asking for an appointment to being seated in front of a very capable and competent doctor, triage at its best. OK, so I have had doctor appointments that were late but one of the doctors there is very popular. I personally don’t care what medical professional I see if I’m feeling poorly, they’re all very professional and very competent. I have had absolutely no issues with whatever my surgery has provided. Even the trainee phlebotomist was lovely.Edit: 22/09/2020I just called to ask for a repeat prescription and was directed to their website. All very easy so I've requested a 'proper' login for the Digital Surgery. I do understand that some people wouldn't like that but I can't wait! Send me a login please ladies :) The lady on reception walked me through doing things online and I still rate OCMP as 5 star without reservation.Edit: 11/01/2021NHS England wrote a real letter to me saying I should get a 'flu vaccine. I called OCMP, spoke with a lovely receptionist, explained what I received from NHS England. I had an appointment later that day at 1630. COVID restrictions in place, I was let into the building, vaccinated within 90 seconds of arrival and on the way home. I live 2 minutes away from the surgery, I was away from home for less than 6 minutes. I still do not understand the low star rating. What more do people want?

Thank you to the entire team at Old Catton for your constant support and understanding. My family have been helped by the surgery numerous times, the reception team are so prompt and deal with our queries so professionally, you have gone above and beyond so many times to get us seen or to support our need. Hayley, Vicky and Christina have helped me personally in some very difficult times and have been so caring and understanding, I will never be able to thank you enough.The entire team have helped us get through some tricky patches, we are so grateful for your professionalism and care.You are a wonderful surgery and work so hard. Thank you so much for all your support.

The doctors and nurses have generally been brilliant, however the receptionists are so far up their own backsides that it's no wonder they struggle to answer the phones.When they do, they're nosey, short, rude and often incorrect with any advice they give.

The worst service you will ever come across, If you want a new doctor every time you visit, If you want to be palmed off with incorrect information from the receptionist or spend 10 minutes on the hideous phone system, only to be told, We dont book appointments

Received an on-line invitation for an influenza vaccination, to be booked within 7 days. No on-line dates available, but told to phone. Waited 45 mins for phone to be answered and was told no flu only jabs available. Only flu and Covid jabs together. Why send out the invite then?? Very strange.

The most useful doctors would HIGHLY not recommend.

I honestly can not fault Old Catton Medical center, my experience with them in the last year after losing my dad has been nothing but support from Dr Cooke and other Drs and medical team . My dad was a patient at the surgery for many years and they supported him and me throughout his last few months.. I’ve never had a problem getting appointments and the reception team are also very patient . I always say… credit where credit is due . Keep up the good work and thank you for all your support over the last year
