Having had a lovely 2 day break here last December we just had to come back, this time for 3 nights.Absolutely terrific stay, breakfast and the 2 meals we had were very good indeed.Incredible value too. We paid £270 for 3 nights b & b (not each by the way, that was for 2 people).Super location with marvellous views from the bedroom window, although whilst the room was absolutely fine the bathroom extractor fan wasn't working so it got a bit steamed up, there was no heated towel rail so the towels stayed damp, and there was no mirror over the sink so shaving was a little hazardous and getting a TV signal was a challenge, but that's the area not the pub's fault. These are pretty minor issues and certainly wouldn't put us off returning, but for us the most notable element of both our stays have been the staff. So, so friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Makes such a difference when staff actually seem to be happy in their job.We will be returning.

Drove past by chance last week and thought we’d try dinner this evening. So glad we did - what a find. We had our two daughters with us and were made very welcome by all the team. Food was excellent and service was spot on and very friendly. Think we’ve found a new favourite. We’ll be back!

Great pub with friendly owners and staff. Fantastic location with numerous good walks from the doorstep. Dogs very welcome. Enjoyed a delicious Saturday lunch and a breakfast another morning. Good service and excellent food. Motorhomes welcome to park on the understanding that you have a meal. Felt safe and very quiet at night. Thoroughly recommend.

Bank holiday Monday and only serving two main meals. Pie and mash or fish and chips. If you didn't like these you were allowed tacos. Not really a good choice for a bank holiday. Food was excellent though. We sat in the bar and the barman made as much noise as possible. Throwing bottles into a bottle bin among other noises so couldn't really talk. Plus people walking in constantly. On a plus side lovely location food excellent, dog friendly and massive gardens.

We got a table without booking for Saturday lunch. Nice food, reasonable prices, good beer. Very quick and competent service from nice people. The menu is a little different from standard pub grub with some Asian dishes, which is very welcome. Would go again.

Popped in for lunch. Nice place, big fire, warm and friendly. Host was particularly welcoming and went out of her way to look after us and our sausage dog pup Millie, despite her yapping. Most dog friendly pub we've ever been in. Food was excellent too. Fully recommend.

We both had different meals from the specials board, one of the best meals we've had anywhere for a long time. All the staff were friendly and helpful.Reasonable price for food and drink.

Outstanding value for money. The rooms may lack a bit of modern refinement, and the television signal may be almost non existent, but the convenient, quiet and dark location, comfortable bed and powerful shower in the en-suite adequately make up for any initial dissapointment. The restaurant provides wonderful food at extremely competitive prices, and a good range of smaller sized meals to choose from for those with smaller appetites. The staff are all very friendly, and work together as a team to ensure your stay is happy and contented. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay, and are definitely intending to return. Thank you
