As a competitive athlete (from track to marathon) with a pretty poor appetite, I have always struggled to get enough calories in to fuel my training effectively. I went to Fran for help with this, in particular as I was about to enter a new age category and I had aspirations of running for England. After an initial chat, i was asked to do a food diary for a few days and then we had a follow up call to discuss what I was doing well and what I could do better. Fran was really easy to talk to, completely non judgemental and came back with great ideas to increase calorie intake and improve nutrition without simply saying just eat more, which I have heard countless times before. After implementing various strategies including fuelling pre, during and post training, my sessions are notably more consistent, I have more energy, I’ve run personal bests and most importantly ran for England in a 5km road race and qualified for a 10km next year.I can’t thank Fran enough!

As I was training for my second-ever marathon at Brighton, my daughter purchased a nutrition consultation with Fran for my birthday gift, to hopefully boost my performance. Fran requested information on my current diet and held a face-to-face consultation on Zoom. Fran identified many improvements to my diet and provided excellent recipes and suggested foods to improve my overall fitness. As I was well into my training plan, I was able to see the results after only two weeks of changing my diet when I completed my fastest-ever 20 mile run! Carb-loading is only part of the picture and it is now clear to me that making changes to my everyday diet has a major role to play in a successful marathon plan. Fran kept in regular contact with me, enabling me to check-in with any queries and she also monitored my diet, making regular tweaks along the way. Needless to say, I completed my 2023 marathon and am very much looking forward to 2024. Armed with Fran’s advice, I am very well prepared for future runs! Many thanks!

Fran has really helped me to get my life back on track - although I thought I was eating fairly healthily and exercised 3 times a week I was still overweight and putting more on. Fran sat me down and we went through my food diary in detail to pinpoint where I was going wrong. I have a made a few changes to my diet and activity but these have been pretty minor and haven't impacted on my life in the way some weight loss programmes might - they are also pretty common sense. Eat more fruit and veg instead of sugar and make sure your portions don't get out of control. I don't feel hungry and it all feels very achievable for the long term. Since I started with Fran in September I have lost 4KG and feel miles better about myself! I thoroughly recommend Fran she's worked wonders!
