Taplow Open Water Swim

Been a few times for a swim, really good swimming venue. Water is clear (for the UK) with pleasant surroundings. Nice cafe with good food and drink, all the staff are very friendly. Only bit that could be improved is the changing rooms which are a bit scruffy, but for a quick change it's all fine.

I had a fantastic swim up at Taplow Lake.You find Taplow Lake off Bath Rd on the opposite side of a car dealership; check google maps beforehand.There is parking at Taplow Lake, which is right next to the Lake House Cafe.Check out the website for more up-to-date information about swimming at the lake. When I swam, there was a 100m loop and a 400m loop to swim around. The water was clean and clear.Taplow Lake isn’t set up for disabled swimmers; the operators want to make changes to allow better access into and out of the water for disabled dippers. In the meantime, if you are disabled or have mobility issues and want to swim there, I would advise you to phone and ask what they can manage; the lake has a great community that would be more than happy to help where they can.As previously mentioned, there is a cafe at Taplow Lake where you can order from their breakfast and lunch menu. I enjoyed a delicious post-swim coffee, which helped warm me up.I enjoyed swimming at Taplow Lake; they have a committed swimming community that will support you if needed. There are challenges for disabled swimmers, but can be managed with some thought and planning.
