my story concerns the conduct of the midland office, but it is vitally important that all members & officials are aware of what is being done in their name. the treatment that I received - contravened every founding principle of the trade union movement & the regional office want my story brushed under the carpet.Due to poor service , I was forced to complain about the conduct of the unions legal team ( Tinsdills ). With out interviewing me and viewing all evidence, the regional sec, Joe morgan, ruled against me and stated that I had exhausted the union complaints procedure ( Blatant lie ) and the case was closed, only to be forced to re-open it a few weeks later, when I initiated a Rule six appeal. This was passed to branch sec , Sharon yates, who sat on her hands for ten weeks, not replying to letters and an email. I lost patience and reported her to union London HQ and a few weeks later she sent me an email informing me that she had held my appeal hearing two weeks previous and had ruled against me. Yates , against union rules, had held my appeal behind my back, denying me my right to put my case to the branch committee and provide my evidence, so much for union democratic values, transparency , and fairness.To get my full story ,please go to the prole star " online news site and click on GMB story

I am a rep for GMB. The union is great gives you all the training and information you need. They have their own legal firm which tackles everything from employment law to will writing. The training I received from GMB empowered me to be able to fight for positive change at work.
