Sefton Park Library
A lovely historic Carnegie library, a beautiful 1906 half timbered building, light and airy. A high galleried ceiling, free wi-fi. Friendly, helpful staff, a good range of fiction, nonfiction, and reference books, including action, mysteries, romance, adventure, graphic novels, travel guides, dictionaries, self help. A large selection of children's books in a light modern extension. This Liverpool City Council library is a wonderful community library.

I got a great science read here (even if the science section isn't the biggest), Parasite Rex" by Carl Zimmer. Read some books and save this lovely little place. The staff were worried that they might get closed down."

Essentially everything you could want from a library, peaceful atmosphere, helpful staff, well stocked shelves and a good few computers.The building itself dates from mid 1911, according to the historical information board. There are a handful of old photographs too, showing the development of the space.
