Got there by doing the trail (old train track) from old train station. Quite a lovely walk in a bit of nature. I would recommend it to anyone! Got off the trails around the allotment are and walked a bit more up to the Nunnery. Enjoy!

Wonderful place, shame there are too many kids with irresponsible parents ruining the place

It's a bit of a walk from the town centre. There's no info about the site, and you could totally skip visiting it as it's just this wall to be honest.

Well manicured ruins in the beautiful town of St Albans that are situated surprisingly close to a road and habitation yet remain un-signposted in any respect, still easy enough to find secluded areas in though.Worth a visit without a doubt.

A very nice visit for me, This place is bigger that it looks from maps and pictures, you are able to walk inside of the building as there is still that shape of some rooms and door ways. It is very well maintained but on my visit it because very busy with visitors. Some of the grass could have done with cutting when i visited as it was long in parts.

A quick walk from the Cathedral, these ruins date back to the mid 16th century. They were built on the site of a nunnery from 1140. This is a quiet sunny spot to enjoy coffee or a picnic.

Beautiful. Simply beautiful. I found several tiny mammals running past me in the more overgrown parts of the ruins towards the back.If you go through the ruins, and turn left, then follow the path through the walled entrance there is a lovely nature reserve and a bridge just behind it. Follow the trail over the very long bridge and it will take you to a narrow greenery alleyway. Follow that, and you will come out near the River Ver. Very pretty route to take if you have dogs or older children with you.
