Autominster Garage (GIC)

On holiday in Morpeth in May last year. Noticed a sound coming from the brakes and so had the AA come out to check. Just as I suspected needed new brake pads. Rang Autominster and told them I was miles from home and needed the car to travel around Northumberland on my weeks holiday They fixed the car that very day, and no rip off price. Perfect! Thank you so much.

Appauling service. Had my car in over a week and after having to ring them 4 times (they never rang me) was told they would not fix it as it was 'complicated and expensive'. I thought garages were supposed to fix cars? Unfortunately this is not the only poor review I have heard as this company now 'cherry picks' jobs where they can get them done in the quickest amount of time but charge a hefty price. Also the guy that answers the phone and books your car in is so miserable and negative. He made me feel uncomfortable from the outset and was very rude and abrupt. I will not be returning here. Ever.

Got towed here by AA, when they opened at 9am I said please have a look I’m trying to get to London, I said it feels like a spark plug, acceleration is juddering. he said it wouldn’t be a spark plug. They said they’d look later. Didn’t look till 4pm, then told me it was running fine and they couldn’t find a fault, which it clearly wasn’t. I said have you checked all the usual things, spark plugs etc. he said yes. By that point had to get a train to London and come back again two days later.Got 20mins down the road, same issue, went to another garage who said ‘we’re really busy but if we can fix it quickly we can’They found the issue - a spark plug - and fixed it in 10mins.Either autominster weren’t able to identify an issue that another garage could in a few minutes (even tho I literally said it feels like a spark plug and they said it can’t be), or they couldn’t be arsed to have a look at it and just told me they did. Either way, go somewhere else, what a waste of my time and money.

Partner booked car in to be repaired . Guy on main desk was very rude and aggressive towards my wife stating it was not booked in even tho my wife had proof via text and email. On picking up the car seemed to have been repaired but lights returned on the dash after the drive home. Called garage to state this an was told that's all they could do.

Had a car in for 6 days. In that time they only managed to get it plugged into a diagnostic machine. That had already been done and the codes were given. Then after a call to chase up, was told they won't do the job as it's costly and expensive...after 6 days and a chase up call!! Do not use these jokers if you can avoid them. Other garages are quoting approx £350 less too.

I put the car in to have a puncture repair on the back left tyre. Picked the car up after a phone call saying the job was finished. When I got there, there was a bolt in the front passenger sideHis attitude was appalling, saying that this was an error I caused. He also told me to try another garage to have the repair expecting me to pay for their error. Regardless I went to another garage and this is when we found this (A bolt used in Garages) what a coincidenceThis used to be a good garage, and gone down hill fastI will Never go back and will be posting these photos on other forumsDisgusting service

Very helpful with van hire at reasonable price.

Always use for MOT and service. Last week had unbearable 'squeak/squawk', booked in for few days ahead. It got worse later so rang again, took it the following morning. Stone/gravel trapped near brakes. Brilliant service, fair charge. Relief! Thanks.

AA recovered me to a local garage on a weekend (not from the area), the team at Autominster called me and had diagnosed the issue as electrical so I needed a specialist garage. As I was not local they found another garage for me and arranged to have my car towed 13 miles away, only charged me £60 for the tow from a third party, not their issue but very helpful/friendly and looked after me, excellent service, much appreciated, 5 star service for a non customer.
