I am really sad that I didn’t get her name, but one of the baristas — she was white and had dyed red hair and glasses — as well as her colleague with dark hair and glasses, made my entire day. I came here on a Sunday about 15 minutes from closing, and I didn’t expect to be met with the cheeriest of staff, because who can blame them? But to my surprise I was greeted with one of the absolute loveliest encounters I have ever had with a worker. She smiled at me, made jokes and in return made me smile, and completely eased my social anxiety and the stress from my day. Her and her colleague created an absolutely lovely atmosphere and you could see that everyone there could feel it. Not to mention that my (slightly complicated) drink was made perfectly to order and quickly, and it was delicious! I really hope she is valued as a team member because I will remember this encounter forever as a highlight at my time at Leeds. Thank you :)

It is located inside of the Laidlaw library - a brilliant location! It is not very big but it is very cosy. There are always students or other people talking or working on their laptop so when you are there the atmosphere is really good. The staff there are super nice and friendly. Amazing barista. There is a corner where you can sit and look at the street outside. I really like the seat. Very convenient for students.

I've been there a few times and asked for a large soya latte. Every time they gave me an almost empty cup. Most of the content of my latte is just foam. Btw, the most expensive foam that I've paid for. I believe the staff should be trained to understand the differences between lattes and cappuccinos and use the adequate proportions of milk/coffee.

I use three Neros regularly (this one, LUBS and Headingley) and have never had any of the following problems at the other two.My main issue is that when you order to collect the drink is never prepared, and the manager tells you the machine hasn't notified them (the last time he said this to me I informed him that I could hear the machine sounding as I stood and waited. Like, its loud. You can hear it when you are sitting in the shop) and today he gave me the same excuse. It might be that there really is an IT problem, if so, why is it taking months to fix? (I believe they purposefully ignore the machine until you are there and complaining, because they would rather focus on the queue in store). Why does the app tell me the order is accepted by the store and being prepared, if that isn't the case?This manager (male, long hair) is very friendly. Where he fails (other than lying about the order collection machine) is allowing staff, especially the girl with blue hair, to be unacceptably rude to customers. He works in earshot of her and I have never noticed an improvement with how she speaks to me/ or other customers.Other small issues such as half empty drinks and incorrect orders happen regularly here, but the problems are always rectified.I will just use the other Nero's on campus from now on.

While the food could use variety, the ambience and service at this place make up for it. The trainee barista Gabriella is especially why I get so many cups while I'm studying. She is friendly and efficient.

Very busy but service is good. Finding a seat can sometimes be a challenge but people come and go so if you can wait something will become available

Caffè Nero in the heart of Leeds' city university, makes excellent coffee. The welcoming atmosphere, as well as the friendly staff and a range of wonderful coffee flavours, make this a great place to visit.
