Unlike most shops around the Royal Mile, this shop sources from local artists and carries unique pieces to bring back home. The owner was very friendly, let me try some Scottish shortbread, and gave a little history about the items I was looking at! Highly recommend.

My friend and I were fortunate enough to visit the wonderful country of Scotland for three weeks. One of our main priorities was to find local and unique art and handmade items. When we got to Edinburgh, we stumbled upon the Aquila shop, and it was so cute! My friend even said, this looks like your kind of shop." She was right! It was super cute

We discovered it by chance and it turned out to be one of the most beautiful shops in the city. All items are small works of art. We bought several gifts that have been a success, and the gentleman who did not answer was charming. We will definitely be back.

This shop never fails to please. Lovely gift ideas,all made in UK ,with several from Edinburgh based artists. The shop is off the beaten track,but well worth a visit.

This place is not like all the touristy gift shops on the royal mile. Has tons a great and more unique jewellery, books, art, etc. We bought a print and had it shipped. Despite the careful packaging, it arrived to us damaged. Eve was very quick at sending us a replacement, which arrived this time in perfect condition.

We left our bags here whilst having a day in Edinburgh. They were very friendly and we felt happy to leave our belongings. The shop also had some lovely unique items.

Beautiful little place where you can buy gorgeous gifts for everyone. Definitely make sure to try the shortbread!
