I am totally with Ms Natalie Tam and am of a judgment that Black & White is irresponsible for delivering their services professionally. When a tenant is stressed about not getting their deposits back timely, they are under extreme duress and definitely need a quick and implementable solution. What Black & White has been doing was just exchanging correspondences, back and fro, again and again without getting results and came back to the tenant and said the issue should be with the landlord and not with the letting agent. What a response! Letting agents are paid to get results, not to exchange correspondences and delegate the responsibilities back to the customers. As I read the reviews thoroughly, B&W has been good for landlords and definitely a timebomb for tenants. So those who are looking for properties to rent, please beware.

Well intentioned, but terrible service.They were always friendly, but stretched far too thin over the two years we rented from them to provide any level of service. Their communication with our landlord was terrible, and decisions took months (up to 8!) to be made. It always felt like they were looking to blame us for issues, so we could never relax and feel completely at home.In the end a price hike of £300p/m over two years was the last straw and we've moved. I'm sure they're great if you're a landlord, but as a renter I would suggest you use a different agent.

Great service from Carly and her team. Hard to find a property in Reading but Carly was pro active and helped me secure a property. Would Recommend Black and White Property, quick with replies as well.

I am a Landlord and I would recommend Carly and her team every day of the week!!!. An excellent service provide and she goes out of her way to provide that service to both the Landlord and the Tenant. Some other local agents are shambolic by comparison.

ABSOLUTELY APPALLING & VERY STRESSFUL EXPERIENCE. PRESSURED INTO PAYING £323 DEPOSIT AT THE VERY END OF THE DAY TO SECURE RENTAL PROPERTY, *WITHOUT* FULL EXPLANATION. I TRIED FIRST THING FOLLOWING DAY TO WITHDRAW AND SURPRISE SURPRISE NO ONE ANSWERING AS ALL IN MEETING UNTIL 1 PM AND THEY ARE REFUSING TO RETURN MY DEPOSIT. TERRIBLE SERVICE - I WONDER WHY THEY ARE NOT ON TRUST PILOT..... AM TAKING LEGAL ADVICE. HAVE LOTS OF CONTACTS IN EA'S IN READING AND ALREADY A LOT ARE SURPRISED BY THIS EXPERIENCE. ALSO KEPT ON INSISTING THE REASON FOR KEEPING THE DEPOSIT WAS DUE TO THE PROSPECTIVE LANDLORD HAVING JUST SUFFERED A BEREAVEMENT IN THEIR FAMILY. HOW IS THIS MY FAULT? I AM BEYOND ANGRY AT THIS UTTER FARCE AND WHAT FEELS LIKE HOODWINKING OF £323. NOT HAPPY AT ALL....Their subsequent reply was predictable and as I suspected. However, I have lived in Reading 40 years and have built up a vast network of services ranging from Estate Agents, solicitors and professional companies - never before have I ever come across anything quite like this. Reputation is paramount and obviously, this company is willing to jeopardise theirs for the sake of the return of my deposit.

Terrible services, irresponsible behaviour which left the tenants in a very disadvantageous and miserable position. My husband and I rented a property via Black and White Property in October 2022, when the tenancy ended, we appointed a professional cleaner to clean it up and handed over the key to the landlord in the witness of the property agency on time. After eight weeks, we still haven't got our deposit back. Indeed, I found that the same property agency has rented out the same property to a new tenant. However, they just refused to get back to us on when we can claim our deposit back. I can't understand why the agency can contact the landlord to rent the property to a new tenant, but can't follow up with the same landlord about the legitimate request of deposit refund of an ex-tenant? I'm now half-way through the TDS scheme trying to get back my deposit, but it's a long process and I'm now in a financial crisis due to the irresponsible services from the landlord and the agency, which makes my days very very difficult.P.S. The response from Black & White just reminded me that I was helpful in assisting them to secure a new tenant and let them visit the house while I was still living in it. And my cooperation was returned with appalling treatment from both the landlord and the agency

I have rented property for many years and I have never had service as good as this. They are proactive, communicative, helpful, always do what they say they will, and take the stress out of renting my property. I can't recommend them highly enough.
