HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! I came here because my partner Grandparents come here every week at least once. First of all the Management is absolutely unhelpful I asked them to turn the heating on which they did after looking at me weird and after 5 minutes they turned off!!!! Poor old people were sitting in the coats. It was freezing inside. The food was awful and cold just like the restaurant inside. We are not going to come back here that's for sure. The management should think about how they want to run this place.

Food is fine but have never been served by such miserable looking staff in my life , all staff no smiles and do their best to totally ignore you. Manager just as bad sat at a table glaring at staff and customers alikeMerry Xmas

Just not good. Weird, silent, indifferent girl serving. Waited too long for the meal in an almost empty cafe. Cheese and potato pie does not come with gravy or cooked veg. Hence it is dry with chips and salad. Said pie is just mash with some cheese atop. Had cheaper and better meals elsewhere.

Terrible food and staff who had no customer service skills... Called in for breakfast this morning, knew it was a mistake, cold like a barn, no atmosphere and the staff just not bothered. Asked for poached eggs on toast with extra butter, eggs were terrible, undercooked, hardly any butter on my bread. We had drunk our tea by the time our food came, (no herbal teas either) my hubby had a full English.. Burnt fried bread and sausage, horrid tin mishrooms had to wait for his beans which came separate.. All cheap food.. Very disappointing.

Quality of food for adults was excellent as usual, standard of place was clean. My only slight complaint was meal for one year old was sandwich on such thick bread he couldnt eat it and all filling fell out on floor.

Great little cafe . Plenty of room . Excellent food and service at the right price. Very good senior citizens menu. Lovely steak and kidney pie. We always visit when in Derby. Recommend you give it a try .

It was my first and last visit. The first two items that I ordered were sold out, so I opted for the gammon and chips. The gammon was a nasty cheap piece and it was way too salty and the chips were undercooked. The hubby had Cornish pasty and chips, he did enjoy his meal but agreed that the chips needed another minute. The restaurant itself was freezing but was clean. The staff were good and seemed to care about their jobs.

Had to wait for 20 mins for coffee to be brought in as they had ran out at 10.20am ! Then when came no apology . Then breakfast came and was disgusted on what we had for the expense of the food. It wasnt particulary tasty either. Scince the prices have increased food and service seems to have gone down hill. Its a shame as once was lovely . This is the second time weve had to wait for food.items . Wont be going back .

The whole experience was terrible from the lacklustre service to the bland food Swiss Cottage is one place I won't be returning. Both baby highchairs were broken to the point of being dangerous and the staff had no idea how to assemble them let alone tell they were damaged. The food is vastly overpriced for such simple fare and was barely even edible, I ordered the cheese and potato pie and received a slab of tepid mashed potatoes with a tiny bit of cheese on top how they have the cheek to pass this off as cheese and potato pie is amazing. The childrens fish fingers were not properly cooked I did go back up and mention this but no offer of changing them this is disgusting as firstly it's for a child and undercooked fish can make them very ill and secondly shows the lack of customer care as they simply wasn't bothered.

Food is average at a fair price but none of the staff look happy there and the way the bloke in the kitchen speaks to the young girls on the counter is disgusting! Whilst eating lunch there today said bloke was telling one young girl what she was doing wrong which is very unprofessional doing it in front of customers!
