What a lovely gem this place is and only a stone's throw into the countryside from North West Swindon. Food was delicious, freshly cooked and generous portions too. It was recommended to us and we'd be more than happy to do likewise. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you for a lovely mid-week lunch.

Lovely to be out with the family for 2nd sitting 15.00 PM lunch. Cheese and biscuits that followed was almost another full meal and totally recommend.

This is a lovely pub in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately it is let down by its lack of vegetarian options on a Sunday.Whilst I am a meat eater so had lots of options when we came here to eat, my partner didn't. He could have vegetables, roasties and peppercorn sauce or a pea fritter. The bar staff were very nice and made him a cheese and pickle baguette, but we had to pay £10.50 for this.I had a turkey and cranberry baguette which was OK, but definitely not worth the £10.50. I can't fault the roasties though which were amazing. If they could cater better for vegetarians and or vegans this would be a great place, but for the food we had it was very over-priced.I'd recommend coming here for a nice drink and to soak up the area, but maybe not to eat here if you have a vegetarian or vegan in your group.

Decided to try the Bell due to being ranked in the top 100 restaurants to try in the UK. Wow this did not disappoint. Food was outstanding. Group of 6 ladies who opted for tapas starters, courgette crisps and cheese dumplings were delicious (next time I am not sharing lol) followed by mains of Landlords Mac 'n' cheese, Salmon Wellington and Lamb shoulder. Everyone also thoroughly enjoyed their mains. Great sized portions. Dessert consisted of Sticky Toffee Pudding, Lemon cheesecake, salted caramel ice cream and mango sorbet. Polished off a fantastic dinner. Safe to say I personally looked like I was ready to pop. The service was top notch, attentive and enjoyed some banter with the staff.Overall I would 100% recommend the Bell and will look forward to the next time that we visit.

Always driven past The Bell, but never visited until now. This is a gorgeous pub in Purton, and very much worth a visit.Food on a Sunday was rather expensive though, especially for a vegetarian option which was veg, peppercorn sauce (as the gravy has meat in it) in a Yorkshire pudding and roast for £15!! The other option was minted pea fritters, also £15! I don't understand why Sunday menus for vegetarians are hard to do.It could be easy to use normal gravy not from meat, along with Quorn sausages, veg, Yorkshire, roast pots etc. Literally replace meat with vegetarian sausages. You can buy them frozen! They did have baguettes that were £10.50, though all meat related. However, the lady serving said they could do cheese and pickle in a baguette with roast pots and salad which was really nice of them. Not visited in the week, but if you are vegetation it really isn't a place to visit for food on a Sunday. The venue, 5*Menu choice for vegetarian 2*Menu choice for vegan, don't even bother coming here.Bar staff 5* for doing something that wasn't on the menu (maybe add this?!)Sadly disappointing.

Lovely food as expected as it was just first time here after being recommended by lots of friends. Lovely staff and very quaint inside. Not a huge choice on the menu but nice food nevertheless.Reasonably priced and will come back to try the Sunday lunch menu.
