I painfully searched for and tried no less than three Acoustic Guitar Tutors before discovering Kevin Durkin’s Music, and I cannot recommend Kevin highly enough.The other Tutors I tried seemed to be more interested in showing me how good they were (which they weren’t) and how much theory they knew (which they didn’t). Whereas Mr. Durkin however, is a true aficionado to his craft of Acoustic Guitar Tuition, accredited by London School of Music, RGT qualified….and a great guy too!

Kevin is a great guitar teacher, he is methodical and supportive, he builds up your confidence and your skills at the right pace for you and gives very clear instuctions. I really benefit from the pdfs he gives sends after each lesson, I use these for my practice between sessions. He is also really friendly and easy to talk to. Couldnt be happier :-)

Kevin has been teaching my son guitar for the last couple of years and he has made brilliant progress with him. He is very patient and encouraging and takes time out to make sure that the material he teaches him to play is the right level and music that interests him. He has done a great job teaching him virtually through lockdown too!

Having never picked up a guitar prior to 7-8 months ago, I decided to 'take the plunge' and invest in a guitar to fulfill my ambition of learning to play a musical instrument. Like many, I struggled through YouTube tutorials before deciding that, in order to do it properly, I required one-to-one tuition. I searched the internet for local teachers, found Kevin and made contact. Despite my doubts about learning over Zoom, Kevin quickly demonstrated the effectiveness of the medium and the lessons quickly became a bright light in the lockdown darkness!I am now six months removed from that first lesson and I am progressing far quicker than I expected, learning several of my favourite songs in the process, and this is all thanks to Kevin. Kevin's teaching style is relaxed, informative and collaborative. He blends the building of a solid foundation and important theory with the teaching of songs that I thoroughly enjoy (during our first session, we spent a great deal of time on the music and songs that I like and they are always at the forefront of Kevin's mind when he is selecting a song for that progressive next step). I cannot recommend his services enough. If you've ever considered learning to play a guitar, make that purchase and give Kevin a call - you certainly will not regret it.

Kevin has taught both my children from home ( initially) and more recently, over Zoom during COVID times and he is always very professional and extremely patient with them.I’ve seen great progress in their guitar playing with one to one lessons, so for me his lessons are great value too.
