Garden Construction Co - Edinburgh landscaping

I found the company through a web search. They responded promptly to my initial email enquiry for a replacement deck and came to visit at a pre-arranged time to look at the site providing a clear quote with options for different materials. (This was not replicated by the two other companies I contacted for a quote who each arranged a time to visit and did not show up). Email communication was good to agree the start date of the job and then text/phone communication was good as the work progressed and timing flexed due to various events external to the job. The replacement deck was completed to a high quality at the pre-agreed fixed cost. I've been happy to recommend the Garden Construction Company to my neighbours.

Delighted with the work that David and his team carried out. We had grass removed and a patio laid in its place along with a water feature and new plants. Excellent professional service, can thoroughly recommend.

I engaged Dave and his team to transform our garden. We didn't really know what we waned but Dave took the time to work with us and give advice as the plan for the garden evolved - Dave was very patient and tolerant of my pain-in-the-neck questions and changing requests for the garden! The result was amazing, the team have great attention to detail and work methodically to ensure the job was done right first time - there was pretty much no snagging at the end of the job which shows their workmanship. In a nutshell, I would highly recommend these guys; they are exceptionally friendly, approachable, reliable, and do a great job first time for an excellent price.

We are very pleased with the work David carried out on our garden. It has completely transformed our outdoor space from an unusable jungle and practically dangerous decking to a relaxed and practical outdoor space. He installed a split level composite deck and the remaining space was covered in astro with a new trellis. Everything was completed to a high standard, on time and on budget. We enjoyed having David round during the work, so easy to get on with and great company. Would highly recommend.

David carried out 2 pieces of work at our recently extended home.Initial work was to build a fence, deck and bin store and the second was for paving a drive and creation of a stone slabbed patio to replace a lawn, together with building a raised stone walled flower bed, installation of water feature, planting of a shrub border and building a set of stone steps. David and his colleague performed the work to a high standard. He was very helpful in advising in choice of materials and plants. He also suggested using larch battens to obscure an old fence - this produced a great finish which has been much admired. I certainly recommend him.

David put lovely composite decking into my back garden. He gave me good advice on what decking to select. It has made a massive difference to be able to walk straight out of the french doors onto the decking and it has been very much admired by friends who have visited. Having recently moved to a house with an over-grown sloping garden and a 25-year-old hedge that was more brown than green, we needed a fair bit of work done to create a family friendly garden and new drive.David's initial visit to view the work that was needed left me confident that he was knowledgeable and professional, and he was the only one who didn't seem concerned that the job to remove the hedge was going to be too tricky!David & Shaun were great to have around for the few weeks the work took. They were both very friendly and hard working, and if they came across any issues (which I'm sure they will have done) we were never made to feel that anything was a problem. There were a few changes of plan during the work, an extra set of steps, additional flower beds etc. - and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. They worked hard through all weathers, without so much as a grumble, and always to a high standard - and with consideration for our neighbours - who got to know them well too!The work we had done included a new tegula-block drive, fencing, sloping garden levelled out and turfed, a new patio area, flower beds, steps and bin-store - so quite an extensive and varied job, every part of it done to high standard.We're extremely happy with our new drive and garden - our two young boys can't wait to have free reign on the grass, once the turf has settled in. We are also delighted in having chosen David & Shaun to do the work for us. They were a pleasure to have around, and our boys, neighbours and ourselves have been missing them! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

David and Shaun were a pleasure to have working on our garden transformation. David understood the vision I had and has delivered it to perfection with some additional added extras and finishes I would never have thought of. David kept us informed and included in the decision making throughout whilst nothing was ever too much trouble for Shaun. They arrived and left at a consistent time each day over a period of 5 weeks. We are delighted with our new patio, path, stone covered area and lawn and will definitely invite them back to do the work needed in our front garden at a later date.

Very happy with the work done in our back garden, transforming it into a flexible functional family space. David and his co-worker cleared the existing garden and then built bespoke wooden raised beds/seating with railway sleepers, and paved the whole area. David was happy to discuss options and possibilities throughout the job, and kept me well-informed of progress. He advised about planting/growing options, and suitable products for aftercare etc. He also carried out small additional work on request, beyond the original remit. Friendly and communicative, I'd happily recommend David for the quality of his work and professionalism.

I waited some time for David to become available to landscape my garden (he was booked solidly for months) which in itself was the right recommendation.I explained as best I could what I required and showed him a very rough" scribbled idea. He took time discussing my needs and produced the most wonderful design which has drawn passersby to take photgraphs of. I am absolutely thrilled. This was a difficult site to start with but David changed it into a garden I want to be in. I appreciated the care and attention to detail that was taken. Work was done to a very high standard. Couldn't be happier. The garden is totally transformed and come Spring will be a haven of tranquility."
