It was a complete leap of faith choosing Steve's Slates. Due to 'Lockdown', many roofing/reclamation yards were closed, so purely on the website details and reviews, my husband rang Steve's Slates. They had the reclaimed Welsh slate 'we' wanted, so we travelled with a trailer to collect 270 of them (thankfully there is a garage located across the road as the tyres needed inflating!!!!). The pallet was ready, and wrapped, so they were bought unseen - not something I was comfortable with and my face must have shown this as I was assured that they were good slates". My husband was pro new Spanish slate (not much price difference) so it was a relief that the roofer was happy with the slates he had to work with. I must confess that I did scrub each of them as they were not all from the same source and a proportion could not be identified as 'purple' as there was so much algae on them ...(a bit crazy I know but they looked great but still aged). The overall result is just fabulous..see photo."
