Mantel Farm

I needed a chicken ramp, my new rescue hens do not like the steps provided with the Eglu cube. Ordered the ramp on Monday and it arrived this morning (Thursday). It took the hens about 20 minutes to decide it wasn’t for eating and now they are using it. Great service from Mantel Farm, and thank you Jason.

Participated in the two day beekeeping led by master beekeeper Mike. We got to see the inside of two separate hives where we watched Mike mark and clip a queen. It was a fantastic learning experience taking us through the basics of beekeeping.We had tea and coffee readily available throughout and a nice homemade cake to enjoy.

I recently placed an order for 2 chicken perches, and they were promptly delivered within a couple of days. The quality of the perches is exceptional and the packaging was done beautifully. I am highly satisfied with my purchase from Mantel Farm and will certainly be placing future orders in the near future.

Ordered black tails which were paid for them told only brown rangers in stock which I went for. Waited 30 mins for shop to open. Staff were inside drinking tea, asked could I collect early they said no so I left.Customer service not great has been before but felt let down this time.Won't be returning to this farm another supplier has been found. Be careful and check your order to make sure recieving the correct birds that you order

Myself and my 15 year old daughter have just completed the 2 day beginners course on beekeeping. Having very little experience from the outset this humbling course is excellent giving a detailed and practical understanding of this fascinating subject. There is a lot to take on which is sometimes a little daunting but Mantel farms is an excellent place to learn in a relaxed and friendly setting. If you can find a friend it helps as it does get complicated and always helpful to keep motivated as it became clear bees are quite a commitment but worth it.

I visited this farm and it's shop because I needed (desperately) some duck food to take to various areas such as Leeds castle to feed the ducks. I went for the mixed corn because ducks like it and the staff recommend it. (A huge thank you to Josh for his input! and his help taking the 20Kg sack to our car).We left with a sack of food and the following day were mobbed by ducks hungry for the food we had purchased. Mission accomplished!It must be said that the farm shop is only open at weekends, but you can buy and get it from a locker at the front of the drive, collect yourself at weekends or pay a small price for delivery (if fairly local). The prices are so much cheaper than other places, so much so that buying a sack made sense because we visited many areas that had ducks that people were allowed to feed (some places such as Bodium Castle do not allow the feeding of their ducks, so check in advance and let them know what feed you will be using as sometimes knowing you will only use a small amount of proper food will bypass restrictions, but do not say I told you! LOL).Once our limited stock is diminished we will return to restock because at certain places the ducks are begining to remember us and look forward to mobbing us for food. Whilst we are feeding them we encourage children, with thier parents permission, to engage with feeding ducks instead of chasing them whilst screaming, which so many children do because they have not enjoyed the experience of feeding ducks with the proper foods. Do not use bread, that is no good, but buy mixed corn or poultry layer pellets to give the animals a much needed feast. The shop sells all your water fowl and poultry food so shop local and enjoy yourself and the prices.

I wanted some stand-alone perches for my chickens and I finally found some at Mantel Farm. Just want I wanted! Super swift postage, lovely to deal with and the very, very best customer service when things went very slightly awry. I can’t recommend this business highly enough and I certainly won’t hesitate to use them again and again. Thank you.

We have bought three chickens , had two looked after while on holiday and bought most of our feed and supplies from them. Great service, good advice and super boarding facility. very happy customer.

Attended a Beekeeping course here recently. A really good course, very informative, friendly and enjoyable. Our tutor, Jill, was marvellous and so knowledgeable. The weather was appalling, but we were very comfortable in the exterior training space provided. I can't thank Mantel Farm enough for a fantastic two days....well done!
