East Lomond Mast Car Park
A great starting point for a walk in the hills. It's easy to hike to the summit of East Lomond or walk along to the Lime Kiln. You can make your walk as long or as short as you want. Not many facilities at the car park and the road up is filled with pot holes, but it does save you a walk from Falkland.

It says there is a toilet in here but we didn't see any! There is one in Craigmead car park we used though. The car park is decent, not too big size-wise.Nice viewpoint over St. Andrews and the waters with a good couple of picnic benches. Certainly a good starting point for plenty of walking paths in the area.

The view and the walk to the top, in the snow was worth it, nothing difficult here just a bit of a stroll with a little scramble near the top, go enjoy and take some pics

To walk the Lomond hills this is the best place to park, there is a small fee but there are facilities and it’s easy to reach the hills from here

The East Lomond Hill (as it is signposted) is locally known as Falkland Hill. There are great views over the Fife landscape. There is a single track road accessible from the A912 ( this can be a bit rough in places, the Council do repair it so please report if damaged) there is a large car park next to the transmission compound, which then leads onto a footpath to the summit. There are passing places on the way up. There are toilets, but these are open randomly. If these are closed then the next closest public toilets are in the village of Falkland next to the library. Keep dogs under control on the hill as there is livestock running free, especially in the spring, as the sheep are lambing and your dog will be shot if caught worrying the sheep. Thoroughly check your dog and yourself if wearing shorts (you wearing the shorts, not the dog) as there are ticks present from April to September, especially if you wander off the path and into the heather. Be very careful of bad weather moving in as fog and low cloud make visibility difficult. There is another path at the end of the car park that takes you to the West Lomond car park and then onto the West Lomond Hill. The road up can get very icy in the winter and beware of deep ditches and gullies on either side of the road. As of 2023, the mast carpark is now pay and display after 2 hours free. The machine is card and coin. If the machine is broken, then it's free parking.
