Shocking. I called several times in an attempt to find some answers to an ongoing project that affects us, that is funded generously by Edinburgh World Heritage.I initially spoke to a young lady named Nico on a Wednesday. She was very polite, and sounded genuine when she said she had no idea that there was a problem with the project, but would get the project manager to call me back the following day. We went through the same rigmarole on the Thursday and Friday and it was obvious that she had spoken to the project manager and knew all about the complaints re the project, but still no call back.I called her again 3 times on the Monday and Nico had suddenly stopped answering her mobile phone!! I left a message on her voicemail. After my third call went straight to voicemail, my husband tried calling from his number and, wow, Nico replied immediately not recognising his number!! How professional and charitable. Get a young girl to act as a buffer to avoid speaking about a project your organisation is intrinsically involved in.Finally we were graced with a phone call from the sympathetic, but unhelpful, Fiona MacDonald - project manager. If you Google EWH you'll see their board members... That's the ingratiated upper echelons of Edinburgh high-society for you. Foolish me for expecting anything different. The star is obligatory to leave a review but obviously means nothing.

Horrendous experienceI have a shop over the road in the Canongate. Scaffolding went up April meant to be down for the Festival in August, busiest month of the Year. No notification that it wasn't coming down, bought a heap of stock to make up for the 3 months devastating decline in business. Finally came down Mid September, Summer ruined. Then had 3 people from EWH in 3 days quoting me various amounts of compensation last one said NOTHING. I have had to pay a full-time member of staff off as they do not have a plan for this situation as it normally works out OK". I know have no idea how we are going to survive the Winter. but the building looks Nice."
