Fantastic tasting session and all round cocktail masterclass. The encyclopedic knowledge Adam has is unparalleled. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back for all of the bitters..!

Dr Adam was incredible - we did the end of month tasting and it was ABSOLUTELY worth the price. He knew his history, cared about his customers, and the value for what you pay is worth it, without a doubt. Cannot recommend it more!

Truly, this place is a rare gem. My wife and I left in a daze of having experienced something unexpected and truly excellent.The owner, Adam, took us on an incredible journey through his life, heritage, and the award-winning gins, apéritifs, liqeuers, and bitters he's created along the way. Not only did we thoughoughly enjoy several items from his line of products (on their own and in the context of perfectly mixed drinks), but also he shared some rare, brilliant, and bizarre vodkas from Poland (Vestal). It was a wild trip...He took so much time to speak with us about more than spirits, but the essentials of compassion, camaraderie, hospitality—what it means to be alive and grateful for others. It was much more than a tasting session, but an experience of a lifetime. We feel a certain kindred spirit with him. Adam is an inspiration and bright spot in this world.We walked away with 4 bottles of gin and liqueurs, some bitters, and his book, Dr. Adam Elmegirab's Book of Bitters. Without a care about how we'd fit everything into our luggage back to the States, we felt as if we were making off with the Honours of Scotland.We look forward to returning to this distillery and its promising future.

My husband and I were visiting Aberdeen from the US and we happened to stumble across the House of Botanicals when it was closed for tours. We were disappointed, but then Adam quickly welcomed us inside, made us each a custom cocktail and offered the warmest and kindest hospitality imaginable. Amazing gin and bitters made from the heart by people who care. Huge fan here, thank you!

I have been lucky to have attended three different sessions run by Adam, all of which superbly showcased his excellent range. Most recently I attended the cocktail experience which from start to finish was brilliant, he guided us through the origins of the cocktail and we sampled several delicous offerings. I enjoyed it so much I booked to come back the next day and take part in the Hauf and Hauf experience which completely turned that concept on its head for me and showcas that with the right thought and pairings you can make beer work with different spirits. I’m a complete convert to Amaro’s and have already ordered some! Adam himself makes all of this possible and his passion is clear to see as he takes you on a journey. He never assumes knowledge, takes the time to answer questions and is genuinely interested in your opinion and feedback. Can't recommend his products or experiences/tastings highly enough and I'll definitely be back in the new year.

A group of us from work went to The House of Botanicals and had an excellent time. So much so that we basically forgot to take any photos! Adam struck the perfect balance between giving us some history on the drinks and letting us chat and enjoy. The gin was phenomenal. The 3 (large) drinks went down very well. As did the little tastes of the other products. You know you’ve had a quality time when a decent number of the group make purchases in the following couple of weeks. The orders received have been faultless, with so much attention to detail. A hugely admirable establishment, with great local business ethos. Well worth a visit. Would go again.

My husband and I visited Aberdeen last week and scheduled a tasting with Adam. He was fantastic! He shared so much knowledge with us and we really enjoyed his spirits he offered as well as bitters. We bought some items while there (we didn't have room for much in our luggage) But plan to buy more online. We are family owned business and love supporting other small family owned businesses even when traveling! If you want great drinks and to learn this is the place to go! Adam was so personable and never made us feel rushed, he gave us his full attention! Great Guy, Great business!

I’ve always been a fan of this Scottish gin brand so when I was Up in Aberdeen we had the most amazing and educational afternoon at the House of Botanicals gin tour and tasting. I HIGHLY recommend this if you like gin, learning soooo much about booze and processes and there’s a lot of interesting things to learn about having a really low omission and ethical B-Corp business. We had an amazing time and left with boxes full of the bottles of gin and bitters we bought. Check it out if you haven’t seen their place down by the arches - really cool! My father in law didn’t even drink any gin and he loved the experience and the learning.

We did the cocktail experience on 29 April and it was absolutely brilliant. It was a small group so the experience felt really interactive and tailored to our particular tastes. Adam was so obviously passionate and knowledgable about all areas of the mixed drink industry and his enthusiasm was infectious. It was great to have drinks highlighting his own excellent House of Botanicals range yet to also be introduced to a wide variety of other products. It was refreshing too to speak to someone so interested in and optimistic about the future of Aberdeen, the effect independent businesses could have on revitalising the city, and someone who has the determination to see that vision become reality. Thank you Adam for a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon — we’ll be back soon for a crate of your incredible limoncello!
