Got a letter from them saying there were grounds for taking case forward only to have an appointment in which they simply stated in a minute or two that there was no possibility of going forward. They clearly got another hour of legal aid for nothing. I expect that's commonplace, and I also expect to see a copy and paste reply saying they don't have a record of my being a client. That's also very commonplace.

I received terrible advice a long with a very unprofessional and unsettling experience. I changed my solicitor within a very short period of time and what a difference in professionalisms, experience and overall ability.

It's good if you are needing a lawyer to represent you any crime that you have done or you can get a lawyer to represent you for your children whether it be to do with divorce or custody of your children. Would recommend them for that reasons.

I used Paul Barnett from George Mathers and co, and can highly recommend Paul. Paul is a very knowledgeable and experienced criminal solicitor. All other staff I encountered at the firm were very friendly and accommodating.Reading the negative reviews I would take with a pinch of salt.

Being young and naive of the law I feel I should have been given better advice and a far better defence. Being convicted on very flimsy evidence still leaves a very bitter taste. A defence lawyer should be there to defend you and get the best possible outcome regardless if guilty or not. 42.5 months imprisonment for basically a first offence is on the extreme end of the punishment spectrum. The main eyewitness (the victim) never pointed me out at court and the other main witness was not credible and his background was never pointed out to the jury. The crown had no weapon, no forensics, nothing. So to be found guilty in these circumstances says a lot about the standard of defence I received. I was then advised that I should not appeal conviction but sentence only, which I did, and in the process admitted my guilt to the crown. Any lawyer who tells you you should not appeal conviction under my circumstances should not be on your radar if you are looking for a top notch defence.

This firm was recommended but has mixed results. I have had two solicitors from this firm. Mr McRoberts was excellent. The family lawyer Mr Findlay was very poorly attended and not very considerate to male clients. Not Autism Friendly.
